What did you do with your Grenadier today?

Many home owners associations in the US have implemented fines/towing for vehicles >5.8m, or with a GCWR (total weight of vehicle + max weight of trailer) of 4500kgs for parking anywhere within the neighborhood (including on your own drive or in your garage); which pretty much negates every full size pick up truck (length) and any non-compact SUV (GCWR)... Real quite wild

Hilariously pathetic, the bit about not even being able to park such a vehicle in your own garage is priceless. Perhaps a motion should be tabled to ban gawdy or bad taste furniture from the estate as well.

Luckily in the UK we don’t really suffer from associations like this where people seem to roll over to the perceived power of these wooden tops.

What I do t understand is why people would buy a property in these kinds of places, or are they some kind of utopia with the odd bizarre ruling ?

If it is outdoor furniture, that is absolutely a ban-able item. These associations generally have final say over anything that is visible/audible/etc in reference to your entire property.

Unfortunately they have become common place, and finding a neighborhood that doesn't have one is far more rare than the alternative.

But anyways, in regards to what I did with my Grenadier today... I looked at it sitting in the drive and walked passed it several times, then logged into the Victron remote management website to make sure the aux battery is still at an acceptable level since it has been a few days since I drove it (Fridge and 5G hotspot running continuously)

Castle doctrine may allow a man to shoot dead a trespasser, but a man’s home is really only his castle if he drives a small car and displays beige curtains to his neighbours. 🤣

Surprisingly, I don’t hear about HOA nonsense in relatively socialist Canada. Except in apartment buildings, which seems a bit more justifiable.

Someone said it well - HOAs are for people who don't have enough government in their lives. I'll never live where I'm subject to that kind of scrutiny - Stepford Wives! lol

The narrow width of Euro parking stalls never ceases to amaze me... Possibly one of the things I'm looking forward to the least about driving in the EU next week :ROFLMAO:
This was certainly discussed at great length by so-called experts in the EU Parliament. :ROFLMAO:

Have a look at the new estates being built on Dutchy of Cornwall land. The houses there come with lots of restrictions, approved external colours only, no parking on road, no UPVC, no noise after certain times, no conservatories. I think I remember correctly on this, and there is probably more to add.
