Diverting the convo back to proper off-roaders, this is the best I ever got from my current ‘95 RRC. If the Gren hits this I’m happy. If it exceeds it I’ll be ecstatic.

Nice! Looks clean. I like the Defender in the background too.

Interesting. I’ve had (3) FZJ80s and all got better mpg than that. Was the 4.0L just that much more of a gas guzzler?

I’ll be selling both ‘97s and also my wife’s ‘03 to put towards my Grenadier. It will be strange not having at least one Toyota with north of 200k miles in the driveway.

It wasn’t like it was powerful, I guess just a gas hog.

In the background is a 1962 Land Rover Series II 88” - the defender’s grandfather. Great little truck. I sold it and the LC though and stashed the cash away to get my ordered but yet-to-be-built Grenadier.
