Have not seen the EPA numbers yet - though with all the vehicles arriving in the US - that cannot last for much longer. I expect the gas mileage to be frankly awful - 14 is what I am hearing from many sources. The EU and other areas do not use the US equivalent gallon size as the US - so cant use that as a guide.
Well,...
You CAN use that as a guide. Just have to use some maths.
Convert imperial gallons to US gallons.

Went for another test drive at Mossy in Houston, because why not! The first time it had 600 miles. This time it had over 1800 miles. AVG was 17.2mpg. This is in Houston with crazy traffic and they’re next to I10 where you’re flooring it pretty good to get going and merge. My LR Discovery TD6 with KO2s on it does 22mpg avg.

very comparable cost of mpg.
From the beginning of this odyssey, I figured I'd be OK if it could match my Land Cruiser 200 milage.
Bonus points if it could beat the LC's MPG.

Looks like I'm gonna be happy...

I haven't reset the MPG computer in at least 15,000 miles.
Probably 60/40% city/hwy.
At most, 300 miles towing.

I drove a buddy's LC200 earlier this year and was surprised by how poor it's fuel economy is, given that it is the same 5.7 in the Tundra (yet matched to the 8spd instead of the 6spd)... My Tundra got 14-15MPG after being lifted, 35s, and 1000lbs of stuff thrown onto it, and yet my friend's 200 got right at 14 with just a few hundred lbs of stuff added and stock tire size

Curry said they are averaging anywhere between 18-23MPG on their demo vehicles after the first 1000 mile break in period.

Try an 80-series! I was getting single digits around town!

Only time the Tundra got single digits was 80-85MPH cruise, with the ATOverland Atlas, 35s, etc, and a 30+ mph cross/headwind... Then we were averaging ~8.5mpg instead of the usual 12-ish :ROFLMAO:

No matter what you do, the Grenadier will definitely be more fuel efficient than an 80 :p

All this Toyota-speak - I have no idea what you're talking about!

The most my 200 says is 11.8mpg. But it's lifted 3", on 34's, with a swing out bumper, Gobi rack, and a 40gal LRA fuel tank.

Greg said similar when we spoke in LA. What are the actual window sticker EPA numbers?

I have the LRA 12.5 because I didn't want a swing-out. Best mod ever!

I really hope they (or anyone) do something for the Gren. I feel like an aux tank will be a must!

Not sure if anyone has seen a window sticker yet.
I was hoping someone has. They’re mandatory here, right? I’ve never bought a European vehicle, but my Hondas came with them.

What tires and extra gear were you running? I average 12.8 mpg (13.44 mpg correcting for 5% taller tires) over 45k + miles with 285/75/LT16 KO2s, 2” OME lift, ARB front bumper and full length roof rack. Probably 5k miles of that I had an ARB RTT on the rack.

The Monroney Sticker is required by federal law, for all new vehicles retailed in USA!

Nice! Looks clean. I like the Defender in the background too.

Interesting. I’ve had (3) FZJ80s and all got better mpg than that. Was the 4.0L just that much more of a gas guzzler?

Here are the ‘97s I have now:

Here is the ‘95 I sold a couple years back:

I’ll be selling both ‘97s and also my wife’s ‘03 to put towards my Grenadier. It will be strange not having at least one Toyota with north of 200k miles in the driveway.

Diverting the convo back to proper off-roaders, this is the best I ever got from my current ‘95 RRC. If the Gren hits this I’m happy. If it exceeds it I’ll be ecstatic.
