Hi everyone - I have two questions:

1. What are people doing with their footwell auxillary power points? any use cases that have turned out useful?

2. Has anyone installed one (or more) sidemount flood lights?

Either: https://expeditionhq.com.au/product/grenadier-sidemount-floodlight-kit/ or https://www.4x4outdoortuning.com.au...-v2-side-light-white-or-warm-white-ineos.html.

This is basically exactly what I want, to light up the sides on slow dark tracks, or when setting up camp. But $700+ AUD for two lights seems a bit steep. Any other solutions out there?

Thanks

Lots of side mount ideas here:
Work light on roof grab bar

You can do that Stedi setup yourself by buying the parts direct from Stedi for about $150, plus a Deutsch plug kit.

1. Using them to power a UHF radio, USB charging sockets and caravan camera screen (last one still to be installed).
2. There are threads here with different lights owners have used on the rooftop outlets. The threads fall into three broad categories, front facing LED lightbars (or spot lights), rear facing work lights or side mounted work lights/camping lights. For example here, camping lights fitted to the roof grab bar.

LED strips offer a cheaper alternative for camping. Look at Item 7. LED strips with built in dimming switches cost more.

LED LIGHTBARS, LIGHTS, WIRING HARNESS, ETC.
In Australia popular brands of LED lights include (in no order):
  1. INEOS (LED Lightbar);
  2. GrenX Lightforce Venom driving light grille kit here;
  3. Lightforce (Spot lights, LED Lightbars and work lights);
  4. ARB USA and ARB AU (LED Spot Lights, LED Lightbars);
  5. Ultra Vision (Spot lights, LED Lightbars and work lights);
  6. FYRLYT (Halogen Spot Lights);
  7. Teralume Industries X Strip lights. Stripe lights also available at DRIFTA, PDP and ÓFFROAD Living (White and Red light model);
  8. Expedition HQ Camping lights kit;
  9. Laser Lights Australia (LED Spot lights, LED Lightbars and work lights);
  10. Perception Lighting (Spot lights, LED Lightbars and work lights);
  11. The 20 inch Narva EX2 double row lightbar can be attached to the top hoops of the Roo Bar using the Narva 2 inch tube mounts (Part #72296). Look here;
  12. Great White (LED Lightbars);
  13. STEDI (LED Spot lights, LED Lightbars and work lights); and
  14. WIRING HARNESS: The STEDI™ SMART Harness for the INEOS Grenadier is for those owners who are looking to run auxiliary lighting using the factory switch controlling the grille lights here.

I powered my UHF of the front passenger foot well outlet and like @Shopkeep hooked up a stedi LED light to the LHS rear roof outlet.

Cheers

Is that this one: https://www.stedi.com.au/micro-v2-7-8-inch-12-led-flood-light-amber.html ?

On that page it says "Environmentally sealed Deutsch DT02 with male and female included". Does that mean it's plug-and-play or do I still need a Deutsch plug kit? Also wondering where you got that bracket to suit the grab handle bar, or did it come with this light?

Stedi do 3 versions of the 7.8" LED light, Amber, white and a dual colour version (which has external switches). The lights are wired with a DT plug, whereas the Grenadier has a DTP roof outlet connector, These are different types of Deutsch connector so you will have to make an adaptor.

My dual colour LED came with a DT plug - bare end wire pig tail to which I crimped/soldered a DTP plug so I could plug into the roof outlet.
Cheers

Ah gotcha, so they're not the same. Still learning 😅 I did see those dual colour ones, looks great and could be good for camping nights with dimable amber light!

Dual colour can also be switched on and off from the outside. Also the two outlets on the left of the car (at least in RHD vehicles) are activated from the same internal switch, the dual colour means you can switch it off and have something in the other outlet still on.

Strip lights here: Teralume Industries X Strip lights. Stripe lights also available at DRIFTA, PDP and ÓFFROAD Living (White and Red light model). Cheaper version may not have the built in dimmer switch.

Does the light recognize the last state when it is switched on the overhead (internal) switch?

I've used the interior power points for an extra USB power outlet on the passenger side and footwell LED lighting in the front and rear seat area using the driver-side power point. I've added Morimoto 1Bangers on each side of the truck (flood) and two amber ones (wide beam) facing rearward as chase lights. I also wired in external switches to the lights so I can control them independently. I'm not a fan of lighting up a campsite more than I need to. I may even install a dimmer at some point for the lights on the sides as the 1Bangers are crazy bright for "scene lighting".
