Sick of waiting

If one is "scanning" constantly as one should, and one's peripheral vision is as it should be, then there ought not be a problem. I have a theory, based on total prejudice and speculation learned in the philosophy Dept. at the Uni. of Betoota that some people become so fixated on their speedometer they cause traffic "incidents"....
I can judge my speed by the seat of my pants. And thus never have to glance down , I find that has kept me accident free for 43 years.
Yes to both above. As long as there is some form of Speedo I’m fine, as I don’t really look at it much. Not having any road miles in a Gren, I’m also suspecting a natural tendency to slow off-throttle (or at least not accelerate).

As I've waited I have found that impatience has allowed my eye to wander. A few days ago I talked to a Chevy dealer to ask about C8 Corvette wait times for orders or dealer allocations. I guess I was looking for some reassurance that the Grenadier wait was not nearly as long as those waiting for a new 'Vette. The typical answer was a six month wait for an allocation that might cost you several thousand over MSRP, and 12-18 months for a new order. Well, one of the dealers called back the next day saying a customer ordered car became available when the guy backed out, and would I like to buy it for $1500 over MSRP. I left work right away and had it in my garage in 2 hours. So I'm bowing out on the Grenadier for now.

Beautiful car!

For those whose Grens have yet to be built, do you think at this point you might get a 2024 model build?

Post summer shutdown would be the obvious place to start...

But knowing Ineos... April 25.

No. Knowing my contract, I did order a Fieldmaster. - In my contract it set to 17" alloy wheels not 18. - Also dual battery ordered and both confirmed. The 24 Fieldmaster has 18" alloys and not available with dual battery but premium sound system. - So I think I get a 23 version and model change should be in somewhat October.
However as they can make any model on the same assembly line.. this should not be a problem.
I do not need a "premium sound system" - neither 18 inch rims. Only thing I expect is a lessons learned build quality and software issues eliminated. if there are already lane assist and other shite is build in..so be it- but I gonna disable it if possible. But I hope I get the current model not the next one.. more electronic gadgets.. more issues.

Interesting question, partly because the 24 MY has several additional safety features built in, some of which may be regulatory. I suspect that cars built from the day of return to full build after August break will be 24MY but they’ll stick with wheel sizes and the like for those of us with outstanding orders.
The purchase contract we’ve signed does though allow IA to make reasonable changes to the spec.
It’ll be good to see - contract signed in April, heard nothing from IA since then!

Same to me, just sign the contract

You could call in and shake his hand
Have a chat
Go upstairs and sit and talk to him
Be calm and at peace with the world.
Taking Dave’s advice I called into my dealer in south east Melbourne today, shook his hand and had a chat about the progress of my order (contract signed 29th April, not showing a build month or as being in production in the Ineos portal). After tapping away meaningfully on his PC he told me he was having connection issues but he could see my order was moving into production (not in production), would be built some time soon. I asked him was he having connection issues right now or on going, he said the last update he had was two weeks ago. When should I expect my Grenadier to arrive I calmly asked, maybe November or December was the reply.

Sick of waiting (be calm and at peace with the world).

Allegedly my Gren is "awaiting transport" and agent thinks could be at the beautiful port of Grimsby awaiting delivery to Kent. What a place to begin your UK experience!

Apologies to anyone living within or in sight of said port.

Why do I wish that didn’t sound like lipservice and standard operating procedure from someone who is just as much in the dark as you are.

With a retail background I do feel a bit sorry for the sales people, they would be sick of being beaten up on a daily basis by impatient order holders with little new information to provide. But my dealer did nothing to get my business, and they are doing nothing to show they value my business. They could at least make contact once a month to touch base, confirm to me they know I exist and give me confidence that they are on top of things.

Hey Shop, when did you order/pay your deposit? I ordered in Jan this year, was told build in May, delivery Aug/Sept. Gauging what the actual delay might be vs initial estimate.

Not confident the information I was given was accurate, just as likely to show up next month or next year (be calm and at peace with the world).

You've done well. My delivery date is the same , yet ordered May 2022!

That’s disappointing, because mine in Sydney has been great, has actively called me at times always takes my call and has had heaps of time for me. A good start. Hopefully that continues through the delivery and aftersales

I was at my car dealer on Monday. He couldn't (or wouldn't or shouldn't?) answer if the car will be a MY23 or MY24. Even in his system the status for my Gren is "ordered - waiting for production", so who knows when this will be. Car dealer and others with whom he is in contact was very unhappy about the recent price hike, he said that orders and interest for the Gren cooled down since.
