Good morning. By chance has anyone attempted to decorate their Grenadier for Christmas? Wondering what the easiest setup would be to convert power and plug some lights in on top or maybe a wreath on the grill. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please post pictures of your Grenadier is sporting holiday cheer!
Use DC LED light strings, they are readily available and usually require 5-30VDC
Often they have been plugged into a multi-voltage AC adaptor that you can just remove.
Assuming you have the the roof outlets you can connect them to a deutsch plug and just plug and play.
Or you can wire them into the 10 or 25 Amp tails that are under the bonnet with a connector or crimp lugs

I'm so sick of kristmass and it's not even thanksgiving yet.
I have grandchildren, two teenage grandsons and a 3 year old grandaughter.
We don't do religion, so for us it is just an excuse to have fun, eat too much food and take some time away from work.
Probably take two weeks vacation, at home, it will be hot & sunny and it is 50 metres to the water.

We don't have anything like thanksgiving, so not an issue here.

This is actually a really cool idea in my kids and all our friends will love it. What type of adapter is needed to plug into the roof auxiliary ports to convert them to just standard 110 LED plugs?
You could get an inverter for the 12v in back - but why not just clip off the AC head and attach the Deutsch DTP plugs? It takes 2 minutes and is water tight.

Well, @DaveB, if you’re not going to be cool and celebrate Baby Jesus’ birthday, you’ll probably just keep running into kangaroos. Maybe the universe is trying to tell you something. Like “piss off Baby Jesus, and you get the roo.” Important truths to contemplate. At Christmas mass, I’ll be sure to pray for Dave the Heathen Antipode, that he is preserved from the Lord’s avenging army of zombie kangaroos. I think it was one of the plagues in Egypt - after frogs but before burning hail? Can’t remember.

My friend I would be very happy if you wanted to pray for me during your Christmas Mass.
I believe in everyone's right to celebrate their beliefs in any format they want to.
After all "I may be wrong"

“And for all Grenadier owners everywhere, that their drive shafts don’t blow out, that spare parts may be readily available, and that this year, a software update will come out that turns off the speed warning. Amen.”

Ok - here’s a cool one. In the US (Massachusetts, which was a Puritan colony - read uptight PITA Calvinist), it was ILLEGAL to celebrate Christmas. None of that Catholic partying for them - just back to work.

So I’m in the process of doing just this. Purchased some Xmas lights, deutche DTP connectors and pins, just waiting for the 12 gauge crimper. Question ,as the Xmas light wires are a thinner gauge, but I need the DTP connectors that are for the IG are a larger gauge, is it okay to crimp the thin wire in to the thicker set up so it will plug in to the roof DTP sockets.

So failure #1 on Christmas lights for the roof. Purchased 120v LED Xmas lights and a deutche pigtail. Connected to the roof. The remote indicator lights up but the lights wont light. Gonna to purchase a 12v string and try again.

Oh yeah - one thing -
When you try the 12v, if it doesn’t work, just try switching the lines. I got one of those Thule license plate holders with a light (I use it on the ladder, since my plates are covered when I have the bike rack on). Put on the DTP connector and couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working. Last ditch effort I just switched the lines (so it was red to black and black to red) and it worked fine. Beats me, but “whatevs” as the young people say. We’re all looking forward to seeing the pictures!

One last thing - lights on a moving car on the road. F?!&%#g kill joys.
