I don't think they are designed for any on/off road use, I'm convinced they are there as a design feature and don't contribute any extra worthwhile illustration
Agreed, but with the dark spot between high and low beam pattern, they do fill a design flaw.

Don't shoot me down folks but I think if I'm understanding the thread correctly then its possible to toggle the Aux 'centre' lights to come on and off with high beam (and not be in Offroad mode), to me thats no different to just 'dipping the high beam' when you see a car coming the other way and the Aux lights do help a lot for rural driving. I have mine set so they come on with 'High Beam' and off when I drop 'High Beam' so as far as I'm concerned as long as I dip my lights when I see another car in the distance they are off. Now... I also have a LightBar but I would never use that on the road.... (unless a private road :) )

It’s market dependent based on local laws. Here in Australia ours dip with headlights and are legal fo onroad use, but I find they add very little useful in addition to high beam. I have added a lightbar, also connected to high beam that dips with headlights

That makes a lot of sense, on my car I can use the lightBar even if its not in 'Offroad' but its not linked in to the high beam, would be helpful if I could work out how to link it to the high beam for when I'm on the backroads. One for the mod list if I get time!

Mine is on the front of the car not the roof, so was easy to jump a relay from the headlight

Hi Matt
I do the same thing however, should someone blame their accident on our bright lights I suspect we would be in breach of the law.

With dash cams being so prevalent, they may also be able to provide proof. Fortunately, the aux' lights are such a none entity, I don't think there would be much of a problem. :)
Yes that was my first thought, and very visible from far away! Wonder if there is a way to upgrade (in the future) the actual main beam itself as that wouldn't look odd on a camera.

Probably the best place to post. I'm away from the car at the moment. What sort of plug is the headlight plug ? Is it proprietary or generic H4 ? Looking to order a light bar kit with integral harness if possible. Thanks !

Thanks Dave. It's a bit hard to make out. Could be proprietary ? I'll take a better look when I get home.
