Sounds like your bump stops hitting. There is very little upward motion of the axel before the bump stops knock onto their metal plates. Deep sand driving. Corrugations. Speed humps - all the same. Normal Bump stop noise.

From the drivers seat you would think that the noise comes from the right front of the car, from the passenger seat you would think it comes from the left side

It's definitely more of a ratle, some days it's gone, some days like today quite pronounced.

Hi guys

Got my Gren about a week ago and I noticed exactly the same issue - it's the like the vehicle has the spare tyre located at the bottom of the car, and it's not tightended properly - so every time you go over these speed bumps or gutters it feels like the tyre moves around below the car...

I'll check the sway bar bushes and propshaft sleeves.

Hi guys, just a quick update again: I figured out exactly when the knocks down below occur: it doesn't occur when going over speed humps on level ground or downhill, because then the vehicle basically "coasts" over the bumps. When I go over a speed bump at a slight uphill, and I give it a bit of speed so that it coasts over the bump, there's no knocks. When I go over the same speed bump, but slower, so that the drivetrain has to work, then you can clearly feel the clunks/knocks, and whole family agrees, especially sitting on the rear seats. So it can't be suspension related, but rather drivetrain related, because it only clunks when the drivetrain is under torque. So it has to be either the drive shafts, or inside the transfer case. I checked the t/c mounting, hoping it might be cracked and moving around, but that also seems to be fine...
I'm now just driving it and waiting to take it in at the 30k service where I will demonstrate to the mechanic what's happening...
Surely this can't be normal...

Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing a deep, heavy noise coming from underneath my car.

The tie rods have been replaced, but that wasn’t the issue (I was certain it wasn’t).

It seems more related to the suspension. It happens mainly at low speeds, particularly when going over speed bumps, often even more when descending them. It sounds like a “clunk, clunk.”
Cant’ really tell if it’s front, middle or rear…

I can also feel it slightly in the steering wheel and pedals.

Soon, I’ll be replacing the tires and springs (Eibach), but I’d like to identify the issue beforehand so no one blames the new springs for the noise, and I can still benefit from the warranty.

Occasionally, the noise also occurs at speeds under 40 km/h in corners when the weight shifts from one side to the other.

I suspect the shock absorbers or those large longitudinal crossbars.

Does someone have or had the same issue?
My Grena is 32000km, and it happened at 7/8000.

Based on your description we had exact same issue -- transfer case cable retaining bracket failed cable slapping (known issue & 3rd party improved part fix on this site).

You might check whether the outer tube of the steering damper is loose. I had that issue but my one sounded more like a single „clunc“ sound. As their might be different stages of a loosing part yours might sound different.
