Letter to Lynne Calder

If you write a letter, it's Lynn - not Lynne.

Those are the key questions. I have a feeling that the message might be diluted if loads more are asked.
Absolutely 100% agree with this, keep the content related to broken promises and not any feedback on the vehicle itself which will be subjective based on the experience and, more importantly, the perspective or expectation of the owner.

I will sign that. I won’t sign anything that also complains about the HVAC or steering or cupholders or footrest or an individual dealer or whatever.

If you are of the belief that whatever is in the letter to Lynn is news to her then naivety would be the first word that springs to her mind. For any form of on going communication, don’t tell her just ask politely. Questions beg for answers…good luck 🤞

My suggestion is to make it simple. Maximum of 5-6 points.. Don't do a letter, that come from an individual. Set up an online petition where owners can sign it. Consider including country of origin and registration number to add weight to the authenticity of those submitting. The only way to influence is make them realise that future sales are at risk.

Proper AC Fix please. Stop the condensation dripping. The IA Fix does not work - as evidenced in QLD at least.
Manuals... spare parts list...
Software Update fix the false warnings for, ESC, TRANS ERROR, HILL ASSIST, etc.
Aside from that the vehicle is driving flawlessly!

I would add, that in V2 of this vehicle to remove the massive RHD footwell intrusion - as it currently makes long-range driving a disaster re: comfort level.

Dozens of respected reviewers have come out and said the footrest is not an issue. Your ongoing private ''disaster'' is of no interest to anyone else !

@255/85 /85, @Tazzieman and @Shopkeep ...you're exactly right. A polite "cc" to George R as chairman? of IA would be more appropriate than Sir Jim .....

George R. is officially "President of the Americas".

The Bosch network issue is that not all of these service centres have lifts rated for 2.7T.

Many service or repair procedures can be performed with the vehicle on the ground. Many minor warranty issues as well. I've had various mechanics assert as much. One shop I've been using for 30 years doesn't have a single lift.

Perhaps I should have said that the official excuse was lift capacity. As you point out, unlikely.
Apart from anything else a standard lift is rated well beyond 3.5T.

Well, it might be plausible. My local Ford dealer couldn’t or wouldn’t do anything to my van because they claimed their lifts weren’t suitable. Perhaps that’s a length or width thing rather than weight capacity. I wouldn’t fancy lifting a long Transit on a two poster for example.

For me, this please...

Very good idea, i dont mind that Ineos knows these things.
Its something else when real owner groups reach out.

Totally agree, fewer issues listed is better. I like the idea of our own survey before such a letter is written. Easy to do, can register a unique domain if required to do this.

Excellent ideas!

I agree with the points on simplicity.
If we go through endless individual gripes we’ll have a 20 page rant which will mask the real message and enable a wish washy generalist response.

Broken promises is the key, at the end of the day we can refer IA back to th. Forum to read all the other stuff if they wish. We have heard on occasion that IA monitor the forum but they have not been active posters thats for sure.

Can I ask @Stu_Barnes whether you have reached out to IA directly for any response on these issues in the past and whether you got any response?

I will draft something simple this week and put it up for comment

On that note as an Arborist my IT skills are basic at best, so when it comes to collecting signatures would a google form be the way to go or is there a better option?

Let’s see how this thread progresses and we can go as a group. There have been lots of times this has come up in conversations and I think it’s a valid way forward to try and have things addressed.

Once we get the meat of things down then we can send out the open letter to everyone in the community with the option to sign. There’s 11k here and just under 5k owners, so we have about 25% of total global sales. It’s enough I think to get some formal response.

Stu.
