Now Admiral is saying they won't cover it as it is a "specialist off-road vehicle"! Weird. How have you all managed to get Admiral to cover?

LV, Adrian Flux and Footman James all offer but price has gone up.

Try NFU .
NFU tried to fob me off with £2000+!

I managed to get Admiral to add it to my multicar in the end . They had it encoded incorrectly on their systems and had to get their underwriters to fix it. Good price in the end!

Initially I could get a quote as a stand alone but when we went multicar "computer says no". I think they took the computer to the bogs and threatened to hold it underwater until it agreed.

Happy endings

£2k is not a fob off, it is a serious offer based on only slightly trusting you. The £10,000 that I got quoted twice is a fob off!

Congratulations on finally getting a deal you could stomach.

Is it a comercial one or a belstaff edition? Because last time i asked admiral they said they do not insure the belstaff editions. Would be interesting of they changed their minds.

My comment and posting is back at #49 on this thread - "I have a comedy quote from Performance Direct, https://www.performancedirect.co.uk/, of £10,550.80 per annum."
My N1 van is with Admiral at £649pa and been on the road nearly a month and a half.

This is a little troubling - I was hoping insurance would be a touch easier for a Fieldmaster

Ive had some crazy quotes, £11k from our fleet insurance! NFU who do all our plant cover are pretty reasonable I think.
Should be about £500 once i get my NCD info over to them. That’s 15000 miles any driver over 25, commercial and off road.

Any tracker and/or Thatcham Cat 1/2 required by NFU?

I’m in London and NFU don’t cover London postcodes

currently with admiral for the Range Rover which was a battle to renew so was hoping they would cover a Grenadier - M1 Fieldmaster not commercial

I guess i will see when the time comes

I have finally taken delivery of my Grenadier , so far very happy with it !
I am not sure if this information is already on the forum ( I did a quick search but couldn't find it) , in considering what extra security systems to install I made enquiries with my dealer with regards to the Ineos installed alarm system .
I have been informed that it is a Meta Systems ( part number AAS06290) alarm . Having briefly looked into their website they also offer tracker systems if any of you would like to run one to ensure compatibility etc.
Hope this helps

Collecting my Grenadier on Thursday, arranged insurance today with Admiral Multi car. Very good deal with my wife, 2 sons ( one had his car stolen 3 years ago, the other has points on his license), and I. It is the equivalent of £475 for the year, pro rata to the end of our other cars insurance in December. Very pleased. 2 seat utility and I stay west of Glasgow. 10000 miles per year, £750 excess. I did a quote online and it came in at £718 but then called and got the better price.

It looks like they've woken up at last. I'd been with them for years, never claimed but policy prices seemed reasonable, but they wouldn't insure the Grenadier when I took delivery in May. The NFU did, no problem, but they were a bit iffy on the New Defender, fine at first but then the underwriter started moaning about security. If only they knew, nothing moves in my village without the "home guard" compiling a dossier. Apparently lots of Range Rover thefts in London due to interception of keyless entry signals. Concession by me was a Faraday pouch, no need for Grenadier of course with its good old key. NFU liked that so insurance-wise it was Gren 1 - New Defender 0. Still they've insured both and so they should.

Admiral quoted £443 fully comp van insurance
Waiting for Adrian Flux to call me back - "it's a niche car" apparently

So far so good. Not London though!
