My vin, which is about to be delivered, is 3592.
Mine went into a batch and hold black hole for months. And then went into an Australian ports black hole for almost a month

Apparently my original vehicle was built on 9th January then just disappeared before it got to the docks.
I think it went into batch, hold and scrap.

Mow you have me worried. My VIN which is only just about to be delivered, is more than 100 cars earlier than yours 😱
Remember what we know from transfer case serial plates, Hambach doesn't seem to operate on a FIFO basis, more grab a part from any shelf.

Yes, there appears to be little logic or externally apparent order to it

We are not that far apart then. Mine is 3124.

Agreed about them fitting whatever is on the shelf. My two different headlights seem to prove that.

Is that the middle lens or the lower one? I have 3 poles in the middle lens, but 4 in the lower.
That was a good hint. I indeed had by accident compared two different lenses left and right.

They are the same on both sides, just as you have described it. Here are the pictures, from top to bottom om the left side (no difference on the right side). The topmost LED is tilt, on both sides:

I was at the dealer to get my rear door table fitted a few weeks ago and he mentioned that there is a headlight recall. He said that all the vehicles he checked up to that point were fine and mine was the first one he found .
He said that he will tell ineos to arrange replacement. Heard nothing since .

Yes it did within days as Nolden obviously has been able to provide the needed documentation or registration for the LEDs in question.

Two different lights in one car? As left and right are the same (same parts, exchangeable) it must happened while building the car.

BTW, the requirement of a new homologation (expressed by the different numbers and country of homologation) for things such a driving light could also become necessary, if the car manufacturer didn't do required EMV tests or did them wrong, so the manufacturer of an electronic device has to make changes to get things working again, even if every single device is EMV save (showing it by the "E 10R" mark). Nolden exceeds the minimum EMV standards. UN-ECE R10 (10R on the device) includes CISPER 25. Automotive industry requires level 3. As Nolden sells lights into very EMV sensible markets they normaly reach level 4 or even 5 if required, which is the highest.

However, it is the task of the car manufacturer to ensure, that in the end all plays together (and if possible before the SOP (start of production)), as the suppliers only can develop to the know standards up to that point. That is why after putting all things together tests are needed. And all electronic and electric devices need this "10R" mark.

I thought right and left headlights had a different pattern and so not interchangeable or can you alter the pattern ?

No, the light pattern is the same for left and right. If there is a difference between left and right that is due to the housing, glass and design, mounting points, etc. as it is the case for the E-Grenadier. However, choosing such a setup is more expensive, as the car manufacturer needs double the amount of parts in stock, two part numbers, etc. The light manufacturer needs many (expensive) tools two times to build the single parts (like housing, glass, mounting bolts, etc) and two homologations (as the same lense with the same pattern shines through differently shaped front glasses). etc. It is easier and much cheaper to go with the same light left and right.

Just look at the well known 7" lights, regardless of if they are from Nolden, Light-Partz or whom ever, all the same, same part number and always exchangeable.

Two different lights in one car?
Not sure if you refer to an earlier posting where I thought I have two different types of light in my car. I was wrong (and informed about my mistake) but had mistakenly compared two different LED modules (middle vs. lower, I believe) of both lights.
