No, the light pattern is the same for left and right. If there is a difference between left and right that is due to the housing, glass and design, mounting points, etc. as it is the case for the E-Grenadier. However, choosing such a setup is more expensive, as the car manufacturer needs double the amount of parts in stock, two part numbers, etc. The light manufacturer needs many (expensive) tools two times to build the single parts (like housing, glass, mounting bolts, etc) and two homologations (as the same lense with the same pattern shines through differently shaped front glasses). etc. It is easier and much cheaper to go with the same light left and right.

Just look at the wll known 7" lights, regardless of if they are from Nolden, Light-Partz or whom ever, all the same, same part number and always exchangeable.

I’m confused. 🤔. If the LED headlights are sealed units and left and right have different patterns then how can they be interchangeable

I thought right and left headlights had a different pattern and so not interchangeable or can you alter the pattern ?
Headlamps are different for RHD and LHD vehicles

They do not have different light patterns. That's what I tried to say. The lights thrmselves can be different left and right, but that is because of their shape.

Of course LHD and RHD are different, because they are asymmetrical. @DaveB posted good pictures to show that.

Not sure if you refer to an earlier posting where I thought I have two different types of light in my car. I was wrong (and informed about my mistake) but had mistakenly compared two different LED modules (middle vs. lower, I believe) of both lights.
Yes, @Tinki 's post.

Yes it did within days as Nolden obviously has been able to provide the needed documentation or registration for the LEDs in question.
Sounds like you know what lay behind the initial recall?

I still think that is not the case. I asked directly at Nolden this morning, awaiting an answer. In 2020 I was involved in testing the Grenadier headlights together with Ineos and Magna and I can't remember that they were different. We were presented a disjointed headlight and the technical specs were discussed and we drove them at night but it was never distinguished between left and right.

I never saw or was told that there is a difference between the left and the right headlight of the Grenadier. That is also not common. Check the G-Wagon, Defender, Lada, VW Golf 1&2, VW T1, T2, T3, Toyota Land Cruisers, UAZ HUnter & Buchanka, Iveco Daily 4x4, all with such lights, which are not part of the design and do not melt whith the body, they are all the same left and right. My wifes company develops LED light conversions for trucks and vans (example MB Vario) and left and right are always the same. Take yours/the Grenny ones out and check on your own, I'll bet you'll find no difference.

If they are sided, left and right, it is due to the housing and mounting, maybe the height adjustment (however, that can be mounted left or right at the light normally), but not for the light pattern.

Maybe LHD and RHD was mixed up with left headlight and right headlight by the Ineos support. BTW, having the same lights left and right was one difference mentioned between the Grenadier and the E-Grenadier.

Here you can see the light pattern of a RHD car of both headlights. Ypou can see the bright overlapping parts of the symmetric part (in the Grenadier headlight this comes from the lower lens) and above the asymmetrical part, which is the same for the left and the right headlight (the upper lens). The asymmetrical part will be the other way around on an LHD car.

I received the official answer from Nolden:

The left and the right headlights are the same. Light pattern, housing, mounting everything. Of course, the headlights for RHD and LHD traffic are different from each other because of the asymmetric part of the light.
