Grenadier vs 2024 Land Cruiser

If you don't like the comparison, why post on the thread? To me its just tire kicking while we wait for the Gren, if we ever get it at this point.

Bingo!

I came here all set to buy a grenadier. But then the price drifted up and up to a point where I had to call shenanigans.

So yes there are two groups of people here. One group wants verification for their purchase (and at the moment they all bought at launch pricing), and the other wants to find a car that can do the job. For some that might be the grenadier but I think objectively there are probably better options, such as the 78 series in Australia.

There has been talk that supply was constrained because of the V8, and that it might free up with the 2.8 turbo and the auto. If this happens and they don't go crazy on the price (which is as yet unknown) I think it's going to be hard to objectively go past. Plus at least in this stage is has the full force of the aftermarket on it's side with years of development, plus a known support network in Australia.

The landcruiser/prado this thread is about will probably also be a very good option but it's 12 months away.

Either way as I've said elsewhere I do think ineos might struggle to get new orders at their current prices.
When you have made your mind up about what vehicle you are going to purchase please come back and let us know...happy motoring and don't get rid of your Defender

Interesting discussion.

I’m wondering how a Poll of owners / confirmed buyers would look like if the following question was asked (and honestly answered):

Would you still buy your Grenadier if you had to pay the current pricing?

Hell no
Not a rich arsehole.
Just an arsehole

Yes.

It would have been a tougher decision and only after doing the maths on what I needed to spend on competing cars to get similar features. For example, with the INEOS I do not need to buy an oil catch can, second fuel filter, braided brake lines, etc. The Roo bar is cheaper than an aftermarket bulbar, the INEOS comes with genuine off road tyres (that is a big saving) and the way the car is wired I will spend a lot less money on an auto electrician. I get a 5 year warranty on INEOS accessories verse 2 years for aftermarket.

The more I thought about it, the yes became easier.

To answer your questions specifically
  • If you damage the wheel speed sensors, you will most likely lose the ability to engage the front/rear differential locks;
If true, that's so depressing as it seems totally unnecessary e but should be hard to test by pulling a plug or four...

Why is this thread only compares the Prado with the Grenadier?
I think they are too different from each other o compare.

A better comparison would be the TANK 300.
It may even come with a heated steering wheel and entertainment for the kids?

When price is an issue, the TANK is a winner.

Seen the reviews on the Tank?
I personally wouldn't go near one. Resale would be woeful

Oh but it's got "eight-way power driver's seat with massaging function and four-way power lumbar, heated and cooled front seats, heated steering wheel with leather trim, nine-speaker Infinity audio system, wireless smartphone charging, 64-colour ambient interior lighting"
