Did you charter a separate boat heading the opposite way to all the other boats??

Talk about the long way around.
Its delivered to North America ports from Zeebrugge and its next delivery is to Auckland (12 Aug) then Brisbane 16th Aug. Thats why passage through the Panama. I always though its delivery to Auckland before Brisbane was odd.

Likely quicker than any ship going to Brisbane via Port of Melbourne... presently 3 or so Ro-Ros and many others sailing in circles outside the port for days on end.. 🤪

Yep, wish mine was able to skip Melbourne. Figaro, Tortugas and Thermopylae, all with Grenadiers onboard are all floating around at seas for days off Melbourne

Tazzieman I actually have a couple of proper "point the bone" bones in my collection given to me by an old Warlpiri feather-foot man ... now long since gone.
Hopefully our spells collide, and we take delivery on the same day in September!
No barra, but maybe some trout.

By my count there are something like 14 roro vehicle carriers anchored off Melbourne for days waiting to unload, my port date has already slipped by close to 2 weeks since the ship left Zeebrugge 100% due to Port of Melbourne and looks like it is going to sit there for at least another week. What a shitshow Port of Melbourne has become.

Brisbane is just the same, the blame is often attributed to quarantine causing a backlog but who would know. I wonder what the cost per day being anchored up is? The crew must be bored out of their minds!

I see on car sales.com.au there is a private sale in NSW, Sydney? for a Trialmaster SW. 100kms and $185,000. Too easy!

Apparently somewhere between $30,000 and $150,000 per day depending on the ship.

It's an embarrassing problem in Aussie ... I've watched Tortugas arrive and leave several ports in France, UK and South Africa without any delays, but in Australia it is sitting there, we obviously have a problem that needs to be fixed.

Wondering how much the delays and supply restrictions are adding to inflation, if the ports are restricting supply then prices are force up even more !! just a thought.

Has to have an impact on prices, car companies (and other goods) and shipping companies can’t just endlessly absorb those costs.

To be honest IF it is quarantine, I'm OK with that.
If it' some other BS / lack of staff / etc etc then yes we have a problem.

Even if it is quarantine, we have had this problem for a couple of years now, should be enough time to a) put in place the resources and systems to streamline it. And b) allow shipping companies to accurately forecast their dates and schedules so as to avoid this.
