Just received telephone call from Ineos to advise that carpet flooring is no longer available due to 'standards issue'.
Therefore only rubber matting can be specced BUT carpet mats are still available.
Those like myself who chose the carpet flooring will have their account amended in due course.

A shame that this 'issue' has only now been found at a very late stage hopefully no more
'surprises' to come !!

Shame for those that wanted that. I think there will be more 'surprises' along the way to/thru production - it's inevitable I feel.
Tks for updating

Hallelujah!

My wife asked me yesterday to change the rubber mats against carpet mats. I was not amused.

But now: no more discussions. (y)

i think you can still get the carpet MATS but not the carpet flooring - mrs. emax doesn't need to know the technicals though!!

Carpets get manky and smelly. If you buy the car for its intended purpose, you don't want carpets.

Hi.
Have you ordered one with carpet flooring?

like that. hopefully no danger of a blow out!

Taking this together with the other thread on loosing the option for wraps, and looking for the positive, then it really does look like the logjam has been broken when such a level of detail makes it to the top of the to do list.

As an aside the engineer who designed the floor plugs, only to be told some customers were going to option full carpet and never see them, must be smiling.

Were the Fieldmasters not all carpet as standard? or did i imagine that?

I did anyway not opt for carpet. Have that in my LR disco sport.. not really - use rubber mats. Perhaps some "Brabus" Style G-Wagon if someone really likes the idea to use a IG to go to a night club.. hope IG will be in the majority used for what it was intended.
Hence if carpet floor is off option - it doesn't bother me. Put an auxiliary heater on the opts list instead. That is something I d' like to see.

Carpet floor mats as standard (£225).

The carpet flooring was an option across all 3 models (£220).

Rubber floor mats being an accessory (£173).

I had scratched my head as to why carpet flooring was cheaper than carpet mats?

Well, the carpet floor might have an insulating effect (including against noise).
(Also carpet-)Floor mats would go on top of carpet!

I opted for the carpet flooring. The only reason was that I hope that the noise level is a little bit lower with this option.
When I am really honest to me it is probably just German Angst which has been built up during the last 14 years owning a TD5…

I reckon there will be some sound proofing/insulation properties. For me unfort there's no choice but for rubber/rubber:
