EU regulations

Setting aside the "if it saves one life then it's worth it" argument. The lights, bongs and constant interruptions/distractions are more dangerous that what they are trying to inform the driver of.

The underlying issue is that goverments want to think for us and save us from ourselves. This creates dependent weak people and that is bad for mankind. We are going to end up like a bunch of French Bulldogs who can only survive if someone else takes care of them.
But then when yet another person comes up to you asking "what is that", "that is so cool" and wants to ask all sorts of questions, it all gets forgotten.

This!
But if you complaining about it, you’ll be told to just sell your grenadier
To be clear, I love my Genadier despite the clear software shortcomings. I have no intention of selling it. All I want is a way to select what “safety features” I want active and a way to reset the service due light.

Oh I agree. But complaining about problems on this forum is an invitation to be told to sell your truck.

The most of us complain here or in private about software or hardware solutions that might be questionable.
The question is whether someone is suffering because the Grenadier doesn’t meet his/her expectations. If so and if the reason for it is something that can not be changed in short term than selling the car is of course an option. Don’t you think so?
Why should someone suffer for a car?

I keep envisioning the engineer having a beer after work and laughing their asses off. Let's build a car that won't stay in it's lane and then have it click at the driver when it wanders over the line and if he tries to turn the warning off then let's put a light on the dash just to annoy him.
I have also envisioned the elevator engineers sitting around over beers, laughing their asses off at all the people frantically pressing the "door close" buttons.
All the while knowing that the elevators were built with no wires run to those buttons!
