Many forum posts out there on the engine fault codes and timing of software updates from Ineos, wanted to share this experience with fellow owners as they work through this issue.

Just got back from the only Ineos dealer in Northern California (Price Family Ineos Grenadier). Check engine light on, my self diagnosis with a $30.00 reader from O'Reilly was a P0461, fuel level sensor circuit fault. From prior posts learned that this will also shut down the cruise control until it is cleared (my cruise control didn't work). My reader "cleared" the code but check engine light was still on, but no further codes were detected.

Dealer did diagnosis, cleared the code, and cruise control came back on.

The service tech also asked what fuel I was using (premium - 91 - with no ethanol) and whether or not I was topping off the tank (no). He then also explained the software updating/patch process the Ineos follows. I was told that the software releases are specific to a production range of VINs - what Ineos does is look at all the known software bugs or issues that need to be addressed, works on them, then releases the patch to dealers to use when updating the software for the vehicles within a specific VIN range. My unit was a "newer" production VIN so didn't have an update available yet.

He also said that their downloads are sent to Ineos for analysis. He said that this helps them collect a broader data set for future fixes, something that may be hindered by home gamers clearing out codes on their own. Many on this forum will know infinitely more about software patches etc than I do, hard for me to have an opinion on the tech's feedback on this issue but took it as a genuine process that they go through to help make improvements to the platform.

I also saw Norseig's rig in the bay - almost identical to mine, except I have the red frame. Natalie would love your PFP sticker!

Everything he told you was accurate

Somewhere around a 3/24 production and later (if memory serves me it equates to a VIN of >17000) you have what is referred to as a "MY24.2", and correct you don't have an update for the fuel level sensor code at this time
