The 25A I would assume is the Medium Load Bonnet Outlet, there's also supposed to be a High Load Bonnet Outlet, which you'd assume would match the output of the High Load Towing Outlet:

@DCPU AH ! Yes! You are correct... I was discounting the 500A outlet since it is the dedicated winch connection serviced by the 500A switch in the overhead panel. Thus there's a 10A, a 25A and the 500A circuit under the bonnet. There's also a "high load" towing outlet at the rear... which seems to be limited to around 40A. However one is supposed to be able to install a rear winch in the tow receiver on a "plug and play" basis...implying a load of several hundred amps. There's no mention of this in the documentation to date... Unless the rear NATO -type plug can carry the requisite current..... "curiouser and curiouser"!

Assuming that if you have specced the front winch this outlet will be used

The dealer told me yesterday that the NATO plug is rated to 500amps to run the rear winch accessory. The specs of the plug on the rear of the IG are 150 to 500 amps.

STEDI adapter not plug and play
The STEDI double adapter is not a straight forward plug and play option to allow two accessories to be fitted into either footwell.

I would need to change the plug on the IG footwell from a DTP04-2P (female housing with male pins) with wedgelock to a DTP06-2S (male housing, female pins) with wedgelock. Then it will work, this is quicker than refitting the 3 plugs on the adapter. That will be easy with the Deutsch spares kit I have put together (subject to what plug is verified to be installed in the footwell).

The adapter's build
The single side of the adapter is a DTP04-2P and the double side a DTP06-2S.

The STEDI adapter is made of decent quality materials. More than adequate for inside the car and would probably do OK for outside use too – all the plugs are shrink wrap (single rather than dual wall shrink wrap) and the wires are inside split tubing to reduce wear.

The High Load Towing Outlet is the NATO socket. We've light on documentation but it is the connection for the removeable winch which is listed as drawing a lot more than 40 amps, and it surely has to be switched via the 500 amp switch in the overhead panel.

My issue is what if you haven't spec'd the front winch - what type of outlet are you left with? Another NATO socket, like the rear? Something different? Or nothing at all?

I am keen to know if the 3x 10 amp switches (eg 2,3,4) are live when the power switch (1)is on and ignition is off. The guide says "12v/USB power" but it's not clear if it's only just the USB ports and cigarette sockets. Similarly for the high load roof sockets if you were to have work lights for camp lighting etc

Does anyone have a good supplier for the DTP sockets and bits in the UK?

Been looking for a while now.
I'm quite impatient and don't want to wait for overseas postage.
The best place i have found are some UK e-bay shops which deliver within 2 days.
Bloody expensive though!!
Probably end up with the Sealey crimper if i go for the open ended rather than rounded plugs.

Motorsports use Deutsch plugs a lot, so also look at UK motorsport suppliers.

I just crimped the first female sockets onto the UHF (CB) wires using a Deutsch crimping tool, it was easy as. I just slowly trimmed the bare wire until I had the right length after watching the Wurth video.

I will only insert the sockets into the plug when I know which side is used in the footwell – I will not be making assumptions. Remembering to get the polarity correct.

Tip: You also need to test for continuity, from the crimped socket to the other end of the wire before installing the UHF, which I have done.

Tip 2: to get the stripped wire to the correct length for insertion into the pin/socket, you can insert the cable unstripped into the pin/socket. Once in place, use a black marker around the insulation near the top of the pin/socket. Take the cable out and strip the wire at the black mark. The stripped wire should very close to the correct length. This only works if the insulated wire is thinner than the pin/socket opening. If it is too thick, measure the wire on the outside of the pin/socket to the obvious ring around the pin/socket and mark it that way. Both ways worked well for me.

Getting quality plugs and the right tools made life so much easier. The money you pay for the tools and parts will be cheaper than an auto electrician (which now charge more than medical specialists here in Australia, based on recent experience).
Thanks for the update. Like you (and many I suspect) we need to know what the IG fitted sockets are (male or female) in order to get the correct type of socket. I am planning on making a few adapter cables for the inside sockets to run my radios (ham HF and 2/70). DTP 2P to the socket terminated with Anderson for the power to the radios and accessories - all my mobile kit has Anderson already installed. So if you find out let us know please! Cheers!!

Australian buyers

Connector-Tech ALS have confirmed they are putting together a Deutsche kit for INEOS Grenadier owners. That way we get what we need without having to pay for what we don’t need.

They also confirmed this image is correctly labelled.

Project 1 nearly complete, Project 2 on the NATO>Anderson adapter underway.

@TheDocAUS Great work Mate!!
BTW...I chuckle at your "Eromanga" location! Someone has to live there...why not "The Doc"?
I have only visited "vicariously" on rabbit hole Youtube explorations ;) One of the early destinations on my "gunna go there" bucket list when the Gren arrives!
PS...hope the recuperation is going OK, and sundry aches and pains are resolving ....

Eromanga History Museum is a great place - the dinosaur museum. My location is where I wish to travel.

Getting better week on week. The bruising and swelling have gone but I have 7 broken ribs and a cracked sternum (10 breaches in total). Now at week 8, so most of the bones are nearly knitted but strength is not 100%, no chance of doing a sit-up yet (I tried and failed two days ago).

I received several white DT seal plugs today. Much smaller than I was expecting, but they do the job. Apparently they work with DT and DTP plugs, but I only have DTP plugs.

Australia - custom Deutsch Kit for INEOS Grenadier

The Deutsch Kit from Connector-Tech ALS, customised for the INEOS Grenadier, is up on their website, look here:
  1. Plugs with crimping tool; or
  2. Plugs only.
That was quick. Thank you Connector Tech ALS for the quick response to my feedback. Great to see some companies still have first class customer service.

I cannot see the items on the CTALS eBay store as yet.

The Kit gives you the parts you need without having to buy complete plugs, as some are already on the INEOS. It is for people who select the aux power option.

I have let my Dealer know and he said he would tell INEOS Australia.
