General Coolant hose protection from chafing

After getting to know my Grenadier a bit more and inspecting in the engine compartment (petrol version), I’ve noticed a few coolant hoses run very close to sharp edges or other components which over time with vibration and heat expansion could cause a hose to chafe and leak. I’ve also noticed hose routings in some parts of the engine compartment, especially between main radiator fan shroud and engine front face have a bit of a prototype look to them and are being held in place by what look like non-factory zip-ties in odd locations. Could it be pre-delivery remediation by the dealers after Ineos has noticed a production issue?

Just for piece of mind in a few locations I decided to cover the hoses with a protective wrap. I ran across a product called Dura Wrap (can be cut to any length you need) and it is available in a few different sizes. The hoses I was most concerned about were the 1” (25mm) ones which seem to run everywhere in the engine compartment and put wrap around spots where chafing was likely to occur especially with the added vibration encountered off-road. I can’t see that it will hurt anything to have a little added protection in spots so here is a link to the wrap I used and a few pictures of it installed if anyone is interested.

I also fitted some wear protection mostly on the smaller lines. I then created a few makeshift supports from heavy zip ties for sections of hose that seemed too little supported but didn't require flexibility to function. I use three ties to do this - one zip tie around a stationary part (or nearby hose), another around the loose/floppy hose or line, and a third joining them together. There are some coolant line connections that make no sense to me and are in very difficult-to-service places so I rotated any hose clamps into accessible positions so I can remove them in the future without a prehensile tail or three hands.

You should make and market a kit.
Confuse/injure hundreds of greying end users 😄

Yeah like maybe Ineos? And they should provide it installed free of charge
I don't expect Ineos to do much until it's demonstrated that there is an issue. I'm okay with the aftermarket going above and beyond for extra protection.

Better support for some of the big floppy hoses would be a good starting point on Ineos' end. It's not like there's much movement between the engine block and the steel girders they call a "frame".

Well considering I am at only 8000mi and already leaking in this hose cluster I suspect it’s coming.
