General Update Prior to Sale: Coolant Hose Clip – Remove

Your dealer sounds shit to be honest, I would nit have been half as patient as you have been. Fortunately so far mine has been great. I don’t have my car yet but is is now only a few weeks away, so time will tell if that continues post delivery but current indications are good.
Agree
I would go with the 2 am standing over the bed situation I already suggested.
I am available for a smallish(hahaha) fee

Go ahead, I'll pay you a crate of Duvel

"Duvel" is dialect for "duivel" in Dutch, meaning Devil! :devilish:

Coolant hose clip saga ...

I took a picture under the hood of a recently delivered Grenadier at my dealer, Petrol, LHD (Left Hand Drive):

There is a clip!

[EDITED] I REMOVED A PICTURE HERE, because I WAS WRONG. I apologize. Nothing else has changed!

I have other good and bad news to post about my car! I hope to do it later. Really not happy!

There is a clip!

And then I looked under the hood of my car: they modified something!
No, no new clip on the coolant hose, but yes three new clips on the higher hose, where I had a broken clip, and they put that hose higher up (compare with the three last previous pictures of my post of August 12, and compare with the picture above)!

I did ask them to tell me about any changes, but they didn't!

Any obvious reasoning as to why they raised the hose? Hope the bad news is minor Jean.

The bad news is that they cheated me: they didn't start the work at once (I delivered the car in the morning and they started working on it in the afternoon), didn't finish it, I will have to go back! With a car under warranty!
Why they raised the hose: no explanation! But I only noticed at home!

So we are talking about this hose?

It's unclear to me whether you are saying they've moved that hose and positioned it with new clips; or it's a whole new hose fixed differently in the higher position?

Good you ask! I was wrong, in my anger yesterday I was blind and saw things that don't exist: I apologize: I will adapt my post above!
The picture you refer to is still valid!

Got a phone call from my Ineos dealer Hedin Lokeren Belgium today, from a new appointed guy for the Grenadier. He explained their side of the story.
  • they are stuck between their Mercedes partnership and agreements and Ineos partnership
  • they still are learning
  • they don't get enough repair and maintenance information from Ineos
  • they have huge problems in getting spare parts
  • new cars arrive with indeed small modifications compared to the early deliveries
  • they appreciate my feedback
  • he agrees they should have told me that they hadn't enough time to fix everything!
(I did send an angry e-mail yesterday evening, with more or less the same tone as my posts here)
