Many of us have also contributed the holding and production deposits to support the project, which is, in effect, investing in the project, so it makes sense that Ineos should be giving us regular updates in relation to our investments, including when we can expect a return on our investment 😊.
If I thought my money was funding the project, I might be more concerned. I'm hoping that all sits in a separate account at present.

I thought the departure of the CEO was OK, just part of the regular personnel merry-go-round; but now I see the Global Head of Product and Global Customer Services bods have also gone recently, together with a number of lower roles...

I wrote to their twitter account yesterday and got a standard response:

"We started deliveries across Europe earlier this month (w/c 9 Jan), and we also started to load vehicles onto boats destined for Australia and south Africa, too."

I then responded to say, sure but you have not been in contact in any way with customers with signed contracts to provide any updates and that this is very poor. No response to that message yet...

My local dealer (Gerrards Cross UK) does have me on the list for one of the first 5 it says it is getting in Feb and they are actually quite responsive (big up to them), so at least that is something...

I think that's entirely fair.

You have to judge people by their actions, especially when they have been explicit with regard to addressing communication issues and then just not delivering.

Is anyone in the same position as me?

  1. In December I was told my vehicle would be manufactured on 13th January (just like many others) and delivered 1st February.
  2. Then of course I heard nothing since.
  3. So I called my supplying dealer - who knew nothing, except February looks good. But I had to call them.
  4. On the 24th January, I messaged Ineos who say that their computer still says end of January/early February looks good for delivery and it should be in production now.
  5. I then check the INEOS website which doesn't show in PRODUCTION.
  6. Why oh why, can they not all sing from the same hymn sheet? Maybe take away the website - "in production" tab.
I will be honest, this is the worst buying experience of anything I have ever purchased. If I hadn't signed the contract I would have walked away, regardless of how good or bad the vehicle MAY be.
First batch will be shipped tomorrow into the UK..Should be with dealers by the 2nd Feb..then up to 8 days with dealers and then available to customers..

I called the 0800-number (Ineos) this morning. Mike told me that the production is running fine, but they still have problems with the contracts. I told him, that I´ve got my contract since November - "oh you are a lucky guy" he answered. They will send me an E-Mail in the next two or three weeks with information about the delivery date, so Mike told me. I hope so. The contract said: delivery date 1st of February - that will not happen, I know.

Doesn´t matter. I´m glad that I will do my next desert-tour (March - Tunesia) with my Toyota - and in this car there is still enough work for me to do...

I have today contacted via email Ms Calder (CEO - Ineos Automotive) expressing my thoughts on the current communications situation.

If a response is received, which means it got past the CEO’s executive assistant (first hurdle), I’ll provide an update here.

I wonder how many owners will want to hold registration over for the new plate on 1st March?

I wouldn't, unless arrives last week of February, I don't think that affects residual values these days. What would you do?
I hope to be swapping for a double cab in due course and keeping that long term.

Normally, it would not be a consideration; but I could see being stung by a trade valuation taking say £1,500 off and despite making the case being answered with "it's the book price".
