Normally most wait for the new plate even though it doesn't hold the same value as when it happened once a year! I have had people say they would like it on a 72 plate though as these will always be know as the very first vehicles on the road, whether that is worth anything probably not, until maybe 20 years down the line.

Hi @Halliwell Jones Chester,

If I can put you on the spot, what's your take on Ineos' radio silence? Does your crystal ball see the supposed log jam moving again soon?

My guess is the Ineos dealers are lobbying hard in the background for some improvement to communications other than the well publicized press junkets and promotional tours?

Nothing to stop it going on a 72 plate later though, is there?

I would have thought 20 years down the road, it's going to be all about the VIN?

A dealer told me that from next week on there will be a „management update“ for the dealers every two weeks. It seems like the try to find a way of communication at least with the dealers.

Nothing stopping you buying a private 72 plate for the vehicle but if it's registered in March it would be auto issued with a 23 plate. They may come with a build month sticker in them like all BMW's do inside the door which would make it even easier.

Yes we are all working hard and we do relay everyone's opinions and concerns back. I do see things moving forward yes, difficult to go into on a public forum but everyone is flat out at the minute. Emails coming through well into the night right now with deliveries just round the corner.

I appreciate it that you try to explain what you are not allowed to tell us. The fact that you show some positive vibes is worth a lot for me!

Yes, it will start soon. Hold still a little longer. I told you to wait until the beginning of February. That's not long now.
Give the people at INEOS and especially the trading partners time. Get to know the car and get it ready for you to collect. Because they also have to gain experience and carry out the maintenance first.

All reassuring to me and I feel positive about my Grenadier order. I’m just not the most patient person 🤔 better to wait than to get a vehicle that has niggling issues 👍🏼

Really don't understand people that order a car, wait YEARS, and then pull out weeks before delivery because the agent/manufacturer hasn't given them enough updates. INEOS's communication could certainly be better, but imagine just how monumental the task is, bringing an entirely new brand, vehicle, agent network etc to market.... also during a few global crises!

Sometimes I struggle keeping up with customer demands and dates etc, I can't begin to fathom how many moving parts this enterprise has... and thus ill keep sitting here patiently! Because when I'm swamped, getting moaned at by my clients doesn't really help :ROFLMAO:

Trust me, I’m just as impatient as everyone else! I want my demonstrator and showroom vehicle yesterday. They will come and it’s at that point the fun begins trying to get through a few hundred demos for everyone waiting 😱😱😱

It seems - I am the one of only a few who is relaxed on this. @Halliwell Jones Chester I fully understand you situation. I am in a sales support organisation, know about , and near future functionality not to be disclosed. There is a lot, legal, marketing, management decision, patent topics, does it work under all conditions, does ist violate certain rules etc etc.. What I know. The Grenadier was not developed just to develop a car, the entire investment in a network and a factory wasnt made for the fun of Sir Jim.
He expects to earn some money with the vehicle and investments pay back.

So.. wait, have a few cups of tea.. or (insert your favourite drink here) and be patient.. I am pretty sure the Grenadier will make its way to its customers and so hopefully to me..

Trust me, I’m just as impatient as everyone else!

I don't think characterising future owners as impatient is an accurate representation of the current position.

We've been told things, on multiple occasions, that have turned out not to be true.

Right back from when in July we were told customer cars would be rolling off the production line by the end of that month:

Right now the last official statement was that customer deliveries would start in earnest in December (I'll skip the bit about October deliveries):

It's now nearly 2 months since that last statement was made ~ and around 6 weeks since the first vehicles should have been delivered.

I think there's been patience in abundance, as well as understanding for missed target dates; but refusing to talk to customers seems very poor behaviour that needs calling out and challenging.

I wonder how many owners will want to hold registration over for the new plate on 1st March?
My dealer said he expects his demos beginning of March and first customer cars (including mine) April/May so I think the new reg is a cert 😫. Some VIP customers might be on an earlier plate though.

In the US, plates are not married to the vehicle, but rather the owner. Why is one plate more desirable than another?
