I see you dropped the s in ba-tards but that's exactly how you spell that word in French 🤪

So mine is the M1G EU 5 seat petrol without roof rack, trial master, dual battery, tow pack, winch front and rock sliders. I wonder if you have the 2-seater the coils are just a different compression rate and not necessarily load rating. It would make sense since the vehicle would behave differently when unladen compared to an M1G version no?
Sounds the most reasonable explanation yet 👍🏼

My trialmaster is away being fixed (3 weeks now) but I have a brand new Fieldmaster (Vin 003568) with only the towing pack on it.
So M1 5 seater. Front springs 2 green round dots. back 2 red triangles.
I will check mine out when it comes back.
Incidentally the software version on the loaner ends in 1941 and I am sure mine was 1939.

Good start Stu! Now you can begin arguing with yourself whether your answer was correct or not :)
Just looked at mine 2red dots at front 2 red triangles at rear. Two seat commercial Belstaff Trialmaster with winch towbar and roof cross bars.

I can’t see any logic to this so far. Mine is petrol with a winch , roof rack, tow pack etc but two seats. Green dots at front and green triangles at rear. . Maybe you specified the rear seating for very fat ba—tards 🤔

We still need more data of vehicle OPTIONS from the users below in order to make better sense of any logic.
@DCPU ; is yours a 5seater now? And any roof rack, light bar, snorkel, side steps or rock sliders? Would be helpful to know, thanks.
@Voader - Oudersopzwier; do you have alloy or steel wheels? 17" or 18"? Which tires? And what other options do you have?
@gkhaldi ; do you have alloy or steel wheels? 17" or 18"? Which tires? And what other options do you have?
@Tinki ; do you have alloy or steel wheels? 17" or 18"? Which tires? And what other options do you have?
@Arkaig ; do you have alloy or steel wheels? 17" or 18"? Which tires? And what other options do you have? Which rear springs do you have?
@lennie_4 ; do you have alloy or steel wheels? 17" or 18"? Which tires? And what other options do you have?

Logsplitter, I imagine your front springs are the same 2 green circles as Voader - Oudersopzwier 5seat/no winch, maybe because your 2seat/winch/roof rack/side runner steps/dual battery = more mass (similar to a 5seat without those options?) and that means more forward weight shift under braking?
BUT then why does Voader - Oudersopzwier have 2 red triangle rear springs vs the 2 blue triangles of others? Does he have other options we don't know about? If so, that would = more mass to shift forward under braking, so then why does he have 2 green circle front springs??
Also, why does AnD3rew have 2 blue rear springs on his if he has more mass (diesel engine/side runner steps/roo bar/brush guards) than Jean Mercier or gkhaldi which are both petrol and have none of those add'l options?

While I thought green was lightest rate, then blue heavier, and red even heavier, I'm no longer certain.
Currently I've changed the arrangement of my data to better standardized their list of options to try to make better sense of it for everyone, and bolded key #seat/engine info in regards to front springs for now;

Non options at all. just a naked N1, 5 seater, (now transformed to a 2 seater) leather seats with ass-heating. 17 inch Alu rims with BF Goodrich tires.
But my dealer told me it was a bit of a car with strange specs. He also has a low vin 4XX From 24 nov 2022. So they probably took what they had on the shelf and made a car of it, or it's a cannibalised car. I don’t know the real story. Anyway, 8 weeks ago I went to have a test drive and asked what they had on stock or immediately available. they had one who wasn’t sold… the rest is history.

Hi Jeremy,

I come back to my previous statement; I believe the different colors aren’t as much for load rating as for the dual compression on the springs. The N1 version should be lighter in ‘actual state of mass” according to the COC. Since the first part of the compression springs are there to give a more compliant ride with minimal load, it would make sense that this is different depending on type of IG. All IG have a standard max weight loaded pf 3.500 kg (except for Australia where it’s 3.550 kg). So in essence, all springs mounted under the vehicle need to be able to cope with that weight.

The fact that we have different rear colors on the same M1 might come down to the tow pack and dual battery option.

Maybe everyone should provide their weight conform the COC. Mine says the following on the COC:
Mass in running order: 2.740 kg
Actual mass of the vehicle: 2.883 kg

Anyways, just my 2c ;)

We still need more data of vehicle OPTIONS from the users below in order to make better sense of any logic.
@DCPU ; is yours a 5seater now? And any roof rack, light bar, snorkel, side steps or rock sliders? Would be helpful to know, thanks.

BUT then why does Voader - Oudersopzwier have 2 red triangle rear springs vs the 2 blue triangles of others, especially when his has no options like others with 2 red triangles have?
Also, why does AnD3rew have 2 blue rear springs on his if he has more mass (diesel engine/side runner steps/roo bar/brush guards) than Jean Mercier or gkhaldi which are both petrol and have none of those add'l options?

While I thought green was lightest rate, then blue heavier, and red even heavier, I'm no longer certain.

So adding a 30kg winch necessitates a change of spring but adding a further 40kgs with the roo bar doesn't.
I guess it could be because the roo bars weight is spread right across the front of the vehicle, even though it is only mounted to the two frame rails.
The winch is loaded over a fairly small area and will potentially have another 5.5 Tonnes horizontal..ish load hanging off it.
If the vehicle was sitting at the top of a hill trying to pull another vehicle up then it could easily bottom out the springs.
Or maybe I am completely wrong

Don’t talk to much in the springs colour coding.
A friend of mine has nearly the exact same Fieldmaster as I have (regarding weight)
But my car is 2 cm higher at the backside than his. I will check the springs coding as soon as we stay close to each other to see whether we have the same.
A company that obviously builds in different headrests will surly be able to confuse itself which springs are to use…
