Essex dealer, Stratstone AKA Jardines is no longer to have an Ineos dealership in Colchester Essex from the end of December 2024.
My thoughts are with the staff employed here.

Our nearest dealer will now be Busseys in Attleborough Norfolk. I spoke with them concerning servicing and warranty work so I now look forward to dealing with them. The guy I spoke too was Jon Carnall - Ineos Grenadier product specialist. He was aware of the normal issues and follows the forum, so must be okay!
Cheers B

Others will probably give up being Ineos sales centres at current sales levels. I hope they continue as service centres ,otherwise it will be a long distance between service centres.

Not looking good for getting a service and warranty work done in the S.E.
The staff only found out last Friday, not what you wont to hear just before Christmas!

Feel for the Grenadier team. Nice bunch of people. I thought it was bad enough when Jardine Sevenoaks closed. Now this. Have no idea where my nearest agent/service centre will be. Chiswick? I'm based near Maidstone.

Another dealership that sells RHD version vehicles no longer in operation. I will say it again: - The general lack of driver comfort that several of my work colleagues and close friends have found test driving, or driving my own Gren, has been a root cause of discussion. None have purchased (one a prior reservation holder) and instead went for cheap Thai built Everest and another is waiting for his New Prado to be delivered, and another already has the new 79 series.

PS: Damn the new Prado seating and comfort level is excellent, I sat in one last week. INEOS need to listen to some basic advice based on real life feedback and issue; your truck has a great driveline and performance is fantastic... fix the damned seating and cabin ergonomics generally in line with 21st Century vehicles and your sales would pick up. V2 of the Gren must be changed - my 2c.

Other hand, US market is taking off... I wonder why.

Yea, I took one for a ride before buying the grenadier. It's an all around great truck, awesome interior, and likely better, but not at all distinctive. Kinda boring. Plus, it has a fucking hatchback. Nothing says plebeian like a hatchback. It may as well be the best minivan ever. I have standards to uphold.

@trobex , curious as to whats behind yopur thinking "US market taking off"? There is another thread about price drops (https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/oct-24-7500-off-plus-2-9.12416799/#post-1333312450) and it appeared to me that our Southern California dealers had over 100 in stock and they don't appear to be moving.

As I read this thread I wondered how long can the US Dealer last as in many cases they own/finance the inventory.

I received an email today from Stratstone Ineos Colchester confirming the closure as of 31st December 2024. I live in the South East of England and wanted to get the forum users opinions of where to go for the best service and warranty work . I think my Grenadier is great but if it becomes too inconvenient it will start to become painful.

My Grenadier is going in for it's 30,000 km service on Monday.
I will leave home at 5:00 am so I can drop it in at 7:15 am
They are giving me a loan car , a Tank 300, so I can drive back home.
Wednesday afternoon I will drive back down, pick the Grenadier back up and drive home.

I tried the Prado just for a bit of a time killer.
I found the seat to be really soft and way too low, but I can see how a lot of people would like that, a bit like a soft mattress on the bed. I have the hardest mattress I could get.

I was in the Altitude high spec model and it felt crowded and it was certainly covered in options and gadgets.
It was AUD$110,000 and talking to the dealer it would need another $23,000 to get it close to my Grenadier spec.
Only thing that would have completely killed it for me is that stupid rear hatch. I wouldn't be able to reverse park in a garage or underground carpark and access the back.
I looked at the Kakadu but that is a 7 seater only which is of no interest to me.

I can see though that it will sell well and most of the people will be very happy.

On a side note, Infinity with an establish brand and establish infrastructure has announced all dealers are closing. They will now be sold at Nissan at least for next 12 months before Nissan folds.

The 2.8 litre donk and IFS would kill it for me. I had a Prado (older one) for 3 months and it was great on its own but lousy when towing. Now if it had a 3.3 V6 diesel with single turbo and live front axle, it would get my attention. Somehow, I don't think I'll be trading the Grenadier anytime soon.

I find it stupid when people take the Grenadier for a 15 minute drive and then get out and say they hate this and that.......yet that is exactly what I did with the Prado.

Although in reality I can't see anyone seriously cross shopping between the two.
A GVM of 3100 and a kerb weight of 2550 (Altitude) no fuel and without bars etc gives it a load capacity of 550 kg.
Add 110 kg of fuel and a couple of passengers @ 140 kg( or me and a backpack) and that only leaves 300KG
Great that it can tow 3,500 kg on paper but not on the road.
Add a 3000 kg van and you would need to leave the backpack at home.

The Landcruiser 300 has the same problem but can carry 100 kg more.
