ugh...come on...guess they'll need to wrap it for me thenI asked here in CO and they said there isnt much to do about it, other than maybe wrapping it, as someone mentioned above. I havent had them do that, but im getting the same bell

Sunday on a simple dirt road I also started to hear a metallic bell noise.
I looked for stones around the underbody and I modified the steering damper as you can see, but the noise persists. I tried to ride without it too.
In these two evenings I checked everything that could be checked and now I have serious doubts that it is the torque converter or worse the gearbox.
In the next few days I try to go to BMW and the dealer
yesterday I went back on dirt roads and made a video.
I am very doubtful that what I hear is the noise of the spring, but to remove the doubt I have to disassemble it.
do you have any idea what else could be causing that noise?
the noise is ALWAYS heard:
- on bumpy roads at medium speed. (at low speed it doesn't)
the noise is SOMETIMES heard:
- on bumps / potholes on asphalt roads
- while stopping or starting (which made me think of the torque converter or the gearbox. yesterday however on a dirt road on a slight descent I put the transmission in neutral and drove a few meters with only the brakes and the noise was still there, so I discard the idea of the torque converter or the gearbox)

what is it? a stone?
Howd you get it out?exactly, after weeks of checking the heat shields, the springs, the steering damper and everything else I finally found that f****** stone inside the front left disc that couldn't get out
I heard this on a trip in Maine. The “bell” sound. I was told it’s normal if you hit a hard bump, which I had. I asked, “Where is it coming from?” I was told the steering stabilizer. Fast forward a few months and I purchased the Fox ATS (super easy install) from Agile. Took off the old Bilstein and while doing so, I tapped the housing by accident. There was the bell noise. The guard on that factory unit is almost like a darn tuning fork. Not sure how that bell sound occurs while underway and hitting a bump but it does. Haven’t heard it since I put on the Fox ATS—which BTW, was nearly magical after I put it on. Don’t get me wrong, the factory unit is VERY durable and VERY stiff but the Fox ATS is pretty darn impressive.Wondering if everybody has this sound. Speed isn't important, it is the importance of the bouncing, I had it at lower speeds too.
YouTube video here.
I think it is the stabilisation stuff (don't know the technical name) in front of the car,View: https://youtu.be/LpcKlzz9-xs?feature=shared
Yeah similar situation here! We figured the sound was a rock hitting metal underneath. When we heard one ding it was "buy a round for the bar"....and sometimes we heard two in rapid successing "ding ding" and that meant the train was leaving the station....LOLI started to hear this noise recently doing some trails here in CO - even had a few other Grenadiers in front of me notice the noise while on the the way to the trail we were running - I've got my first service coming up soon and will have the dealership check it out, after reading through this thread there still doesn't seem to be a definitive solution yet, but I wonder if anyone else has brought theirs in for this noise yet or not....will report back after my service if they have any answers - definitely showing them the videos in this thread though, that's the exact sound I hear every time I drive on anything bumpy.
we had the same thing in our group this past weekend running Argentine pass - of the 4 of us with Grenny's, 3 were ringing church bells all day long, lolYeah similar situation here!
