About 1980ish I reconnected the battery bank on a search and rescue boat while down in the hull laying across one of the two engines.
There was a wiring error which meant as soon as I got close to the positive terminal it disappeared in a cloud of sparks and molten lead.
I went backwards onto the boards between the two engines and was unhurt.
Had I been on the other side of the engine instead of laying across it I would have been seriously hurt or killed.
