FUEL FILTER GUARD INSTALLED
The fuel filter/line guard is installed. It is a DYI job, but having a hoist would make things easier.

I made a few mistakes and suggested some revisions to the fitment instructions which are already easy to follow.

The EUROFLO Fuel Filter Guard is compatible with ABNTR4X4 rocks sliders.

The following only makes sense if you buy the kit. Three bolts are used in the install.

Long bolt (x2, seen in the second picture above)
Having a short handled 17mm wrench really helps to hold onto the nuts as you tighten the bolt head - there is limited space inside the guard around the fuel filter once fitted. The bolt head size was 16mm. I have never had a different size nut and bolt head before, so that threw for a while, until I realised what was going on. Bolt head 16mm, but nut size 17mm.

Short bolt (x1, seen in the first picture above)
18mm bolt head size, which screws into a per-threaded hole in the chassis.
For some reason the images aren't displaying... might be just me.. might be not.... any new images by chance?

They are links to a DM. They display for me. I will go and upload them, not link them.

Also have the custom offroad bash plate which uses the middle point, but I assume most would be running these plates.
Hi Weeman

It looks like it might foul on the fold up at the rear of your bash plate....

I would have to see one to confirm....

But we could make a small modification so that it would still fit.

Will have to see if anyone in Brisbane has the same bash plate so we could measure up.

Actually on having a think about your situation, we could probably do a cut down version as you bash plate is already offering some protection around the same area that our guard is.

Yes thanks. I have the powered steps and looks like this will fit ok. Am I right to presume the bolts go all the way across the width of the chassis member with a couple of large washers each side...?

Correct, the bolts go thru the chassis frame, you must remove 4 rubber bungs. Replacement bungs are supplied allowing bolts to thread through the chassis. I just put the removed bungs into my spares kit.

Post a picture of the passenger underside with the powered steps, so Justin can also see it.

The fitment instructions are being updated as we speak (these tell you how to do it - INEOS has made it very easy to do).

Plenty of room between the powered step bracket and chassis rail.

The middle bracket of the powered steps has the motor right up against the chassis rail - there is very little space between this motor and chassis rail.

From your images looks like filter guard won't be close to the middle bracket/motor of the powered steps. See bottom image showing the step motor just forward of the original OEM middle step mount bolts.

Here are the other parts of the EURO FLO expedition fuel filter guard kit. To be released shortly, stay tuned.

The square washer is a spacer if you do not have INEOS steps installed. So I used the spacer (2 actually).

EURO FLO Expedition Fuel filter guard compatibility (now available)
  1. Works with INEOS steps fitted (Justin's Grenadier @euroflo);
  2. Works with ABNTR4X4 rocks sliders fitted (my Grenadier). You need to use the supplied spacers when fitting the guard;
  3. Black Sheep Rock Sliders. A small adjustment maybe needed. A Grenadier with BlackSheep sliders fitted is needed in Brisbane (Brendale) for more checks;
  4. Guard appears compatible with electric side steps, but subject to final checks;
  5. More work being done when you have both rocks sliders and Custom Offroad underbody protection fitted;
  6. Not known if the guard is compatible with INEOS rock sliders yet. If the mounting bracket is close the INEOS steps the guard will fit. Can anyone post an image of the INEOS rock sliders centre mounting bracket?
  7. The guard may work on the Petrol model, but no guard has been fitted to confirm compatibility. This image shows the fuel line appears routed slightly differently on the Petrol model. Any Petrol model owners in Brisbane (Brendale) willing to visit EURO FLO for a test fitting?
  8. No testing on QM so far, only wagon;
Easy to install and a single person can do it. I managed to do it without dramas. Just ensure you read all the Fitment Instructions before starting. Once I used the short handled wrench on the Nyloc nut on the chassis bolts it went smoothly, because when the fuel filter guard is in place there is limited space for tools on the inner (or filter) side of the chassis rail, because of the guard.

Does the petrol model of the IG have the fuel filter in the same position as the diesel? @Tazzieman My IG is a diesel.

Asking as part of the Euro Flo fuel filter guard project. @euroflo

For info my early 2023 U.K. spec petrol Grenadier doesn’t have an inline fuel filter that I’m aware of. The fuel filter along with the fuel pump is within the fuel tank as I understand

EURO FLO EXPEDITION EQUIPMENT - fuel filter guard
The EURO FLO Expedition Equipment fuel filter guard is designed to give added protection to the Grenadier’s fuel filter and fuel line. The guard is made from 4mm brushed aluminium.

The first production run will be early next year (2025). Between now and Christmas, Justin from @euroflo is offering free postage.

The guard is designed and made in Australia. A single person can install the guard (I did).

For me the guard was a must have for the added protection. Get in quick if you want one from the first run, there will be strong demand.

Cost
AUD301.29 plus postage (Nil postage if your order is placed before Christmas 2024, Australian orders only). This is much cheaper than the Matzker fuel filter guard which costs AUD1,450 plus postage (in Australia).

Compatibility discussion
There is a discussion of compatibility issues concerning the guard here. It is worth a read.

More information
Lots more information is available in the Fitment Instructions here. I helped draft the Fitment Instructions after fitting a prototype to my car.

The Instructions are six pages long with plenty of images. The Instructions help you with your DYI install, they also offer tips and give insight into some of Justin’s design decisions concerning the guard.

I am slightly confused about the fitment of the guard alongside Custom Offroad bash plates? I have the Custom bash plates and the INEOS side steps. Can anyone confirm thats ok? I think it is but following it all is a little confusing

This is one the issues being looked at under compatibility. Current position is more work being done when you have both rocks sliders and Custom Offroad underbody protection fitted.

Are you (or anyone else with this combo) near Berndale in Brisbane? Justin can do a test fit of an earlier prototype to answer the question. @euroflo From memory you are Sydney based, but my memory is lousy since the accident.
