i completely agree. Painting them black makes them “disappear” nicely! Some optical illusion or something always made the silver version look bent or askew. I pulled mine off and got it powder coated when I got a few other things coated.
Oooo, I like that flat black hood. Looks nice!Powder on mine
Love it! Did you do the rear as well?Powder on mine

Looks great! I was thinking of doing the same. Do you know if the factory silver was a powder coat and were there any issues with refinishing it?Some optical illusion or something always made the silver version look bent or askew. Factory is powder coated. I sanded it down, cleaned with acetone to clean it off and then sprayed. No primer needed.Looks great! I was thinking of doing the same. Do you know if the factory silver was a powder coat and were there any issues with refinishing it?
That’s helpful thanks!Factory is powder coated. I sanded it down, cleaned with acetone to clean it off and then sprayed. No primer needed.
Looks great! How has it held up?Painted my front skid yesterday. Temp warmed up to 70 degrees in Dallas yesterday, so it was perfect to paint!
Rear skid is next.
Absolutely. The best part about it is if you go offloading and scratch it again you can always shoot it with touchup.Looks great! How has it held up?
