Those holes look really unfinished to me. Anything creative we can do with them? I understand that it's likely used for the Utility cargo partition. but there are two sets of them.
I really like that. would be great to find straps that matched the saddle leather package! 3D printed hardware?
Those straps are pretty close it doesn’t show that well in the pictures, bought the straps from etsy and there were different colours to choose from. Yes the butt plug looking things are 3D printed. My wife was complaining there were no handles to help get in the back, I wasn’t sure these would make a difference but she says they work great. Nice thing is if they bother you when you are seated they just slip out, but you don’t really notice them.I really like that. would be great to find straps that matched the saddle leather package! 3D printed hardware?
Is that what a butt plug looks like? are you concerned at all about the strength of the strap if someone pulled their weight up with it? Yes was a little concerned that eithe the 3D printed piece might snap, or the strap might pull away where the screw piece holds it together, but they are surprisingly strong. Is that what a butt plug looks like? are you concerned at all about the strength of the strap if someone pulled their weight up with it? Don't suppose you'd be willing to share the file for the print, please? Or if there's somewhere I could download it from? I got freecad and couldn't figure out anything besides how to open a file. I don't think there's much of a chance I'll ever design anything.Yes was a little concerned that eithe the 3D printed piece might snap, or the strap might pull away where the screw piece holds it together, but they are surprisingly strong.

It’s my son’s design, he was trying to decide whether to try and put some together to sell or put the design on paid site, but he has been dragging his feet. Maybe I will see if he will put it up on an honesty system basis. If you use the file you Paypal him $5 or something. Will see what he wants to do.Don't suppose you'd be willing to share the file for the print, please? Or if there's somewhere I could download it from? Nice work.Yes the butt plug looking things are 3D printed.
It will probably eventually break. Pur printer will print carbon reinforced and Nylon. My sons experience is that the carbon reinforced is actually more brittle innsome applications. Might try nylon at some point. Will probably just replace and reprint once a year.Nice work.
But I have some concern that the common 3D materials (e.g. PLA) might break under load. For heavier loads one should probably use carbon reinforced material or nylon - which can not be printed by many 3D printers.
Another idea is an aluminum or steel part machined on a lathe. Instead of the strap holder, an M6/M8 thread drilled axially into the metal part could accommodate an eye bolt.
Hi AnD3rew, What length strap did you get on their website? DaBull
I got the longest one, but could probably get away with the next size downHi AnD3rew, What length strap did you get on their website? DaBull
That was the original plan, but we decided to try the 3D print, I didn’t think it would be strong enough but it’s better than I expectedHow about a grade 8 washer between two nuts, on an eye bolt?
A great idea - you ought to start retailing the finished article.
