Hi fellow owners. One of the joys of my old Land Rover and also Range Rover, vw golf, and BMW X6 and X5s has been the ability to re-code the ECU. Not just plug in chips but software re-coding of the ECU. Almost every car I’ve owned in the last 15 years has had this done. Except my grenadier. Chip plug in boxes seems about the limit on that.

Does anyone know of an ecu coding company who does re-coding for the Ineos yet. In particular I’m interested in anyone who can re-code the car to switch off the service indicator reminder nags, reset the TPMS sensors etc. ie all things that we hoped Ineos would let us do ourselves when travelling to far flung places.

I know Pete Bell in UK was very good with anything Land Rover and I’ve just sent him an email to see if he’s had any luck with the grenadier yet. Will post when/if I get a response.

My other thought is to sponsor someone to make a bespoke product that can reset the service indicator as an ODB plug-in device. Anyone here that can do/make that or know of anyone smart enough to do it? Might be the hottest ticket item in the grenadier works shop if we can make it… Or better still persuade Ineos to do it as an official Ineos accessory that owners could purchase. I’d happily pay money for that and take it with me for remote travel.

There is a member on the forum that is diligently working on cracking the encryption on the engine DME for the B58, but definitely isn't there yet...

The service interval/TPMS are each separate modules, and would require someone to emulate the Bosch Grade-X scan tool.

Plenty of companies could do it, unfortunately the juice isn't really worth the squeeze given how niche and low volume the Grenadier is, at least at this point. A number of companies have been contacted, none of which are willing to put in the work required

The B58 DME has been cracked and can be benched. It’s the rest of the truck that’s the problem.

The version of the DME used in the Grenadier is completely different in regards to encryption and specifically map location as per several sources I've talked to

Sadly Pete Bell said he didn’t have anything in play currently. If anyone has any contacts in the relevant industry then I’d be keen to work with them to get a product to market - at the very least to allow the customer to reset the service indicator themselves.

Effort is not a function of how many features to unlock. Once you crack it, everything becomes available.

Just unlocking the service reminder toggle doesn’t make it a more trivial goal.

That's been my feedback as well...
The closest match seems to be a bespoke version of the Bosch line of diagnostic code readers.
