Being where you are based, it must be very upsetting for you, such a shame. They are promising new service centres, would it be worth holding out for a short time?So I have grilled Harwoods today about this, they advised the nearest dealer will be London way. No thanks! It’s no reflection on Sean at Portsmouth at all, he’s been fantastic but my confidence in ineos is now very shaky, Harwoods will be coming back to me with an offer to buy the car back or a favourable term on a p/x. It’s a terrible shame, I love the car but I feel the value is going to drop like a stone and with no dealer network it puts off anyone wanting to buy it and has taken away the confidence I had with a dealer that was local.
No, they are not going to be involved with Ineos at all from 31st MarchSo are Harwoods still going to be an Ineos service and repair centre as that is what I was led to believe from the email I was sent from Ineos UK ?
It does look like Ineos is also retooling the pricing. There was an Gear Junkie article published here in America, a day ago. In simple terms, Ineos is dropping the base QM model and only offering the Trialmaster and Fieldmaster. Then they reduced the price by 11k. I wonder if this pricing will work it's way through all of their models.I have not been told that Chandlers is Service Only, BUT it is. I called them today, no one called me back, as I want to ensure they are staying with it! If not will definitely review what happens next!
I do think we have been very badly let down. However, I understand why dealerships have ditched the franchise with so few sales. Ineos mistake was the huge price increase in 2023, which killed sales instantly. Instead of outlets seeing 30 sales a month, some would be lucky to shift 1 or 2.
That is only if you judge the value of the vehicle based on it's resale value. So I have grilled Harwoods today about this, they advised the nearest dealer will be London way. No thanks! Not that I think you missed to share Lynn's answer with us, but just for the sake of completeness: have you received any response?I sent a Linkedin message to Steve Graham, the Ineos Automotive Head of Aftersales asking about the plans for the dealer network, the manual release and the parts book, to be told that he has effectively left and his replacement is Oliver Schlipf, of MBTech. I have asked to connect on Linkedin.
I have sent a LinkedIn message to Lynn Calder, CEO at Ineos Automotive saying the following:-
The UK dealer network, manuals and parts book
I am an early owner of a Grenadier, (April 2023), now with 30k+ miles on the clock and one of the moderators of the Ineos Forum.
Unfortunately, I drowned my Grenadier in early January and I/NFU Mutual have struggled to find repair/investigation resources. My Grenadier is now at Chandlers of Belton and will be looked at on the 28/03/2025. I am appalled at the lack of access to qualified technicians and the rapidly shrinking dealer network. It makes it very hard to recommend a Grenadier to anyone who knows I have one.
Do you have an idea about the size of the dealer network considered optimal and when that might be in place? It would be good to issue some form of press release to reassure existing owners and potential buyers.
Secondly, when will we have access to the workshop manual and the parts book? Qtr 4 2024 has passed and there has been no announcements. Please remember that the existence of the manual and parts system was a key part of the launch marketing.
Looking at the Ineos Forum, both the shrinking UK dealer network and the lack of manuals are contributing to falling sales and some owners wanting to sell. https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/another-uk-dealer-gone.12417905/page-4#post-1333330122
I and my fellow forum members really want Ineos to succeed, having invested significant amounts of personal capital in a new to market vehicle, so please reassure us that our GBP60k+ vehicles have a future on British roads and will not become expensive paperweights.
Best regards
Jeremy Edwards
