Another UK dealer gone.

Ineos map currently showing a service centre at Barnstaple, anyone know if that's correct?
Yes I believe so. Was told by Ineos sales chap in Whitney this morning it was. Compass.

So I have grilled Harwoods today about this, they advised the nearest dealer will be London way. No thanks! It’s no reflection on Sean at Portsmouth at all, he’s been fantastic but my confidence in ineos is now very shaky, Harwoods will be coming back to me with an offer to buy the car back or a favourable term on a p/x. It’s a terrible shame, I love the car but I feel the value is going to drop like a stone and with no dealer network it puts off anyone wanting to buy it and has taken away the confidence I had with a dealer that was local.

Being where you are based, it must be very upsetting for you, such a shame. They are promising new service centres, would it be worth holding out for a short time?
I wouldn't fancy having to go to London from isle of Wight, I wouldn't fancy going to London full stop.

So are Harwoods still going to be an Ineos service and repair centre as that is what I was led to believe from the email I was sent from Ineos UK ?

Let’s hope we get some smaller independent service centres able to service Grenadiers such as Bosch service centres or someone like Newbury 4x4 close to my neck of the woods.

I have not been told that Chandlers is Service Only, BUT it is. I called them today, no one called me back, as I want to ensure they are staying with it! If not will definitely review what happens next!

I do think we have been very badly let down. However, I understand why dealerships have ditched the franchise with so few sales. Ineos mistake was the huge price increase in 2023, which killed sales instantly. Instead of outlets seeing 30 sales a month, some would be lucky to shift 1 or 2.

It does look like Ineos is also retooling the pricing. There was an Gear Junkie article published here in America, a day ago. In simple terms, Ineos is dropping the base QM model and only offering the Trialmaster and Fieldmaster. Then they reduced the price by 11k. I wonder if this pricing will work it's way through all of their models.

It pays to have common-sense oversight in a car company. After George Ratcliffe took over as president of Ineos Americas, he did something that most auto executives wouldn’t even consider — he walked into a dealership like a regular customer. No red carpet, no press event, just a guy checking out his own company’s trucks. What he saw was a problem: a dealer demonstrator Quartermaster with a projected customer price well over $100,000.

The culprit? The 25% Chicken Tax, a relic of trade policy that slaps a hefty tariff on pickup trucks imported into the U.S. That tax alone put the Quartermaster at an immediate pricing disadvantage compared to its SUV counterpart, the Grenadier.

Originally, the Quartermaster’s pricing in the U.S. was set at $86,900 for the base model. If you wanted the Trialmaster or Fieldmaster versions — both of which package the most popular off-road and touring options — the price jumped to $94,900.

And while the Grenadier’s pricing made sense for its niche, the Quartermaster’s numbers didn’t quite add up. Nobody in their right mind was going to spend six figures on a pickup with a cargo bed smaller than most full-size trucks. (Besides ADVAW8S)

Now, instead of offering a base model that nobody would buy, Ineos is simplifying things. The Quartermaster will only be available in the more equipped Trialmaster and Fieldmaster trims, both priced at $83,900. That’s not just cheaper than the original base model pricing — it’s $11,000 less than what the higher-spec models were initially set to cost.

It’s rare to see a company acknowledge a pricing misstep and course-correct before the market forces them to. But this move makes the Quartermaster far more competitive and gives it a fighting chance against not just other off-roaders, but also full-size trucks that come in at similar price points. And in a world where new-car prices only seem to climb higher, an actual price drop feels like a breath of fresh air."

I think Ineos will be all but finished in the UK in the next 12 months if they don’t act very quickly…they won’t !!!

I am dreading trying to get mine service in July. Think I might end up having to drive from the West Midlands to Halliwell Jones (Liverpool ?), as it sounds like the Solihull (Grange) could be a waste of time or astronomically expensive.

However I am confident that at the speed IA work, we should have some replacement dealers in place in 2030 !!!

Maybe Halliwell Jones should put together some form of 'Weekend away' deal. Chester is a very good tourist destination.
