The level of vitriol in this thread regarding the ADAS system, the speed warning in particular, is comical considering it can be turned off so easily. The ability to turn it off permanently is certainly desirable, and this will likely be possible in time, but until then the hysterics are overblown. Start the car, turn off the warning and commence the day's business. That said, if it were not possible to turn off the speed warning then the strongest possible objection would be warranted.

The trailer hitch and wiring are much more worrisome to me, no communication, no updates. I was hoping mine would arrive after this issue was resolved, but I believe it should be off loaded at the Port of Tacoma in the next day or so. I'm guessing it will have the hitch removed before delivery the dealership just like everybody else.

I agree the hitch issue is much more concerning leaving it impossible tow anything or use a hitch rack. The issues with inconsistent heat and AC as reported by many owners is also a bigger concern than the ADAS system.

I was going to add, HVAC is an even a bigger concern than the hitch situation. Local or nearby dealer I wouldn't even think twice about continuing this adventure, but 8 hour roundtrip for dealer visits might be more of an investment than I am able to make.

I would love to have the hitch receiver even if I didn't tow anything; I guess INEOS dealers took them off for legal reasons.
A fickle HVAC is an issue indeed, however, on a 2600-mile trip from SoCal to Wyoming and back, it was not that big of a deal. On the huge bonus side, you can crack a rear window open without head-busting low-frequency rumble that plagues all modern station wagons I owned or rented, including a Volvo XC70, an LR4, a Wagoneer, and a Suburban.

The your mileage may vary issue with the HVAC is concerning, hitch removal at port is well documented, with no new information of when it will be resolved and it's not a nice to have in my case, but a necessity as I have trailers that will need to be pulled. Reality for me is setting in as I may not have time to babysit a Grenadier thru its growing pains.

I'd be in there with a pair of wire cutters. It would drive me nuts. Spouse's Nanny Subaru is bad enough.
Drive a new Subaru, leave all its warnings on, wondering if this is adequate training for the ADAS system. We joke about our Ascent, she bongs and beeps and jerks the steering wheel, slams on the brakes, etc, all in the name of Safety. Turns out below zero temps also play havoc with eyesight, she overreacted to a slower vehicle and almost came to a stop in a 45 mph speed zone the other day.

Completely agree and it warrants some type of update directly from Ineos. Travel season is coming up and I have a trailer to pull.

Hi @MTNDOG - Here is a link to my post on the latest trailer hitch update from our all-dealer call last Wednesday. Hope this insight helps: https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/ask-the-dealer-mossy-grenadier-texas.12413651/post-1333244882

I think you are basing your post on the idea that the only objection to the speed warning is the actual noise itself. For some folks, this may accurately represent their grievance. But for others, the concern is not just the noise - which, as you say, can be shut off - but the presence of a set of features that they find invasive. The speed warning, automatic braking, and drowsy driver detection represent for a bunch of us on this forum, a degree of government over-reach that we find both practically and ethically problematic. I've aired my thoughts more comprehensively on this in other posts, so I won't do that again here, but I hope that the 'short version' makes sense. Best.

I have asked for wiring schematic and if I ever get one and can find the darn "clicker" wire, speaker, etc generating or communicating the noise I will take a chain saw to it. It's really frustrating enough (almost) to return the vehicle to dealer and go buy a g-wagon or something else. I love the truck and can only hope there is a "off for good" solution coming. I understand the other 10 or so "new car issues" like the back door not shutting, the parking sensor in front going off each drive when nothing there, one key fob not working, driver door manual lock not working, driveline vibration under load, etc. as I'm sure there were gonna be a few "bugs", but for them to purposefully create one as aggravating as the "click, click, click" baffles me to no end. Like I said in earlier post, I have watched 100's of youtube's on these and only 1-2 of them even had this system on them. Wish I knew that I was paying extra for a problem when I was picking up and paying the $100k. Would have walked away.
Click click click…program the favorite button…push the favorite button…toggle off the over speed limit…click click click…hmm still continues to click once randomly when not over the speed limit…click click click…

Can Ineos hear the same thing we do?

Click click click…hmm, I paid close to $100k…waited over 2 years…click click click continues

Would still really like a video of what this sounds like.

Here ya go👍 click 4 times once you go over 1-2mph… will stop clicking if you start to slow down. To be honest I can’t remember (even after 1200 miles) if it clicks if you keep pushing it lol… I usually turn off the warning after I here the first batch of clicks.

I completely understand this position. However, there was a time seat belts, airbags, laminated safety glass and energy absorbing designs (frames, bumpers, interior structure) were also considered to be over reach. They violated personal liberty, increased purchase costs and reduced aesthetics. Few would now argue that these items do not increase safety in a very meaningful way. The question becomes when do additional safety features cross into regulatory over reach. This is a very fuzzy line that is constantly moving.

I got to drive MY vehicle for the first time today. The sales guy was showing me how to turn it off and make a favorite, but I kept it on and did some in town driving. It clicked a few times, but wasn’t anywhere near what I expected it to be after reading everything on the forum.

At this point, I’d rather all Ineos’ focus be on the tow hitch resolution than turning ADAS off.

All that being said, if there was a button I could press to turn it off permanently, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

As I approach the speed limit (by feel, I hardly ever look at a speedo in any car) I usually lift off the throttle a little. Most of the time it prevents the clicking. I've had my grenadier about 10 days and have only bothered turning off the speed warning once to see if it makes a difference. Going through the favorites honestly bugs me more than the occasional clicks on my commute and I have pretty bad misophonia. If this is what people are griping about with the Grenadier, Ineos has done a great job.

Pretty annoying, not sure I would call it a nothing, but if the favorites shortcut works, that is acceptable to me. Pre purchase agreement should, as I stated before, require driving a new Subaru with all safety systems engaged. It's like driving a casino slot machine around.
