Fitted the front ones today. Pretty heavy duty and as my car is a Donny Grey with a matte wrap, blend in nicely.

I removed about 25% of the adhesive, at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock and added the sikaflex, but not too much, have some turpentine and a rag ready for cleaning up. The adhesive is good for holding it there while the Sika goes off.

I have the rear light protectors, I removed part of the adhesive tape and used Sikaflex 227. they have stayed put so far. Someone commented that they would damage the panel if impact happened, I said yes, but- that panel is plastic and easily removed. the light is $1k AU to replace (not sure about the panel) so IMO for lightish strikes they should be effective.

I fitted the front guards to mine months ago for the same reason, if, I know rare, have a bird strike as I live in a rural area with lots of grouse moorland it should save buying a light. Plus I like the look.

I put them on. Mostly for the aesthetic but I have driven into a bird with a car and it exploded my headlight.

Fitted the rears. Might make a difference when I fishtail into a stock fence's barbed wire again.

The bloody red plastic on the adhesive was a right bstard to remove. Lost my temper with it.

Used black Sikaflex 221 as that was the freshest I had.
