What did you do with your Grenadier today?

I use my Grenadier as a work vehicle to call on customers in often pretty remote locations.
Yesterday I was out at a timber mill in the middle of the forest
As I was early i drove down a rough track to park for a while and water the plants.
I heard a noise behind me and looked back to see a dingo about 10 metres away and closing in.
I heard some noises in the bush and noticed a few more.
The 3 minute stop was converted to a 2 minute stop and back in the beast to safety.
Customer told me there are a lot about and also a lot of wild horses (brumbies)

They export their large overland trucks around the world, same for Grenadier parts it would seem - quite a few roo bars heading to the U.S.

Picked up my Grenadier from Red Noland today in Colorado Springs, bit of drama to get in this morning due to weather in Colorado Springs ( Two hour delay at DIA ( aka Denver Airport) for refuel after two attempts to land in the Springs) the flight finally made it in to get my Truck. Even better I had lovely drive over to Salidia Colorado, DOT did a fantastic job clearing the road along the Colorado Sun. Tomorrow I will attempt to dive into Durango, now have pick which path over. Wolf Creek Pass is doing Avalanche mitigation in the morning. So it looks like I drive over Monarch pass down to Montrose, then head down Hwy 550. Need check for Avalanche Mitigation at Coal Bank, and Red Mountain Pass in the morning.

Staring Day 2. Monarch Pass (snow on pass now ) to Montrose then down 550 via Ouray it is. Road were dry to Silverton, then snow down to Durango. It be nice winter test. The Heated seats are very nice option and the heater works well in the truck. I take photos along the route 239 miles to go.

Today I wanted to check on my buddies again. I wasn't really there yet when one of my girls came to meet me. She must have missed me already. The ground outside the path was very soggy. But with the gear reduction and all 3 locks I got through easily. I use them every week. They all go in and out very easily. I can only advise everyone to use them more often. My heating and air conditioning also work well. I have loved my Defender for 20 years. I have no regrets. Now I enjoy the Grenadier every day. I have nothing to complain about. Let's hope it stays that way. Oh yes, when I drove away, my girls didn't give me a second glance. What a pity.

Checking underneath the Gren I discovered one of the t-case shifter cable’s dangerously close the t-case front output!

I zip tied it to the output fork cover, a temporary precaution until I bring it to the dealer this week.

Is this the standard cable route (note the detached cable fixing)???

Isn't that the neutral switch, allowing you to shift the Grenadier into neutral.

You might want to create some protection for the plastic radiator grill. I hit a pigeon this morning which has broken the plastic grill in half. An expensive drive to work

What did I do with Gimli?
Hooked him up to our new van/tardis
and we've done an easy overnighter to shakedown more stuff: awning , HWS and various other functions.
Just about asleep when we heard a noise which turned out to be a possum that had crawled into the van behind the slide out kitchen. Under the floor beath our bed. Luckily it dashed out; sometimes impossible to budge and they leave a stink as well.
Note to selves: don't leave kitchen out at night.
The animal below is a potoroo. There are dozens of them here.

Adding to the list of weird things to tow, a 25ft climbing wall to and from a Scouts activity day; about a 40 mile round trip each time and a 2T weight. Hardest bit was getting out of the gate onto the road, narrow and not a straight line before or after the gate.

Tomorrow I will be marshalling two cycle races, the 2024 Women's and Junior Mens's Cicle Classics Races. I will be sited in Pickwell, with three high speed passes and a radio blackout as Pickwell is in a dip.

We hear few photos from the drive today. Had a bit of weather at the start of the drive and then near Molas pass and Coal Bank pass going down to Purgatory Ski resort. But made it bake to Durango after the two day 342 mile Journey.

Took the horse and trailer 120 mile round trip to a vet clinic to have laser eye surgery on the horse.
I have to say this vehicle is a sublime tow vehicle, much more powerful and stable ( bad pun) than my discovery 4. Reassuring when towing, just the turning circle when reversing with a trailer is an acquired skill

Hi @Eric I can confirm that 100%. I also have the comparison with my Disco 4. When I was out on the pasture with the Grenadier yesterday, I really appreciated the locks. My Disco wouldn't have got any further. The Grenadier gives me the feeling that I have enough power. The Discovery only scores points when reversing with a trailer. There it is superior to the Grenadier.
