New Ineos Fusilier 4x4: electric and range-extender SUV revealed
Ineos is back with a new 4x4, and it'll be electric and REX

Perhaps we could unite Land Rover and Ineos by having Land Rover supply their 48 volt mild hybrid performance busting P400 straight 6 with 395HP for the Grenadier. My New Defender is 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. The 48 volt battery pack spins up the super charger to 65,000 rpm in less than a 1/2 second. It's an amazing engine. DaBull
Modern diesels makes zero sense in NA.Yeah, I'd love a diesel choice here in North America.
Until then ... Grenadier Range Extenders come in your choice of size and colours.
No factory or dealer installation required. Available everywhere. Also compatible with any gas motor made in the last century.

Looks like Magna is building it in Graz, which certainly adds to the cost.
Just doesn’t add up to me, I know they kind of have to do this for the emissions balancing etc, but in order for that to work they will actually have to sell some. If it is lower and heavier and smaller than a Grenadier it won’t be very useful offroad, so that’s that group of buyers out. Its smaller so it won’t likely have 7 seats or big load capacity so thats the SUV and people mover buyers out. So that puts you in just the electric runabout category and its going to be more expensive than a Grenadier which is already expensive so it will be double the price of a ton of quite interesting and tasty competition in the EV runabout category. It just doesn’t add up. And to be honest it’s a little worrying. INEOS needs this to work in order to keep making and developing Grenadiers and Quartemasters. It isn’t great news for the rest of us if it fails.
I am just going on what others have said. I too was surprised when people said it will be heavier and more expensive. But will it be heavier?
“It will be built on a bespoke skateboard platform with a steel top hat and underbody, and aluminium doors and closures.”
So monocoque and no steel chassis. I bet the panel gauge will be much less as well.
As for the price being more, I’ll wait on that front. My money is on it being much cheaper.
But they need this to offset fleet emissions. It will be interesting to see which markets that take this to.

Totally agree. If it’s heavier and smaller and more expensive it will go the way of the Aston Cygnet I think.I am just going on what others have said. I too was surprised when people said it will be heavier and more expensive.
For that it will have to go upmarket quite a lot. Dual zone ac and heated steering wheel with illuminated sun visor mirrors for startersBeverly Hills, Milan, Dubai, Macau, Cannes, South Beach, etc...
So many EV choices now and coming. Fo an EV city car no need to have something 4wd shapedTotally agree. If it’s heavier and smaller and more expensive it will go the way of the Aston Cygnet I think.
I can’t wait for the video of it pulling a Grenadier out of the mud because of its “better”computer controlled independently driven 4 wheel traction control. So many EV choices now and coming. Fo an EV city car no need to have something 4wd shaped
And electric side steps, true premium audio, and a panoramic roof. And you can't forget the ventilated butt massagers like the new GX. If they aren't spending on overbuilt axles and transfer case they should have the financial wiggle room to squeeze some of those in.For that it will have to go upmarket quite a lot.
