In anticipation of the imminent deliveries, what did you do with your Grenadier this weekend?

Tell the community and share the love, and pictures, lots of pictures.

This thread will remain locked until the first member tells me they have taken delivery.

I've been to the UK many times. But never in Northumberland. I think I'll have to go there one day. It's another 2.5 hours north from my Land Rover Garage.

Fantastic county with some of the best beaches, castles and scenery in the world…… I might be slightly biased though …

And Holy Island, Cheviots and Kielder. I agree with you, if I was to live back over the border I'd be in Northumberland.

And the simply the best northern neighbours a county could wish for, with equally spectacular landscapes !

Northumberland is lovely, some of best scenery, roads and coast in the UK, but is it also where I have been the coldest in my life!
Otterburn ranges, mid-winter, snow on the ground and a strong wind blowing; 1982, I was a very junior TA soldier,
"Edwards, where's your kit?"
"Staff, I'm wearing it"
Yes, more or less two of everything, battledress, shirts, thermals and I was still Baltic!

Global warming still has not made that much of a difference

My Grenadier stayed parked already 3 days now, and I am measuring things, and making some minor improvement concerning my compressor install and some other smaller stuff, like placing o-rings inside my key to avoid accidental "panic button pressure", thanks to the tip of @bakepl here

But, what did I see under the hood?

I think, but am not sure, it is a robin who uses my car to prepare his meal. Perhaps a bird specialist can confirm. I often see a robin around my car, even some months ago while I was under my car, the robin came to inspect what I was doing :)

Check for nibbling of the wires, wire wrappings and foam. Modern wiring and car under bonnet insulation foam contain soya. It attracts mice, so does a warm car when you first park up after a journey- perfect for mice to nibble the foam to build their nests.

The day after taking delivery I took it out to some local forest roads. Nothing major but we came across one nice trail that was quite steep, 12 to 14 degrees pitch, The Grenadier handled the decent over large rocks and ruts with HDC perfectly with the center diff locked in low. The only problem was at the bottom of the trail just before joining the main road, the trail was blocked so there was no way to get through and we could not turn around so the only option was to reverse back up the hill. It was getting dark so that added to the adventure. The Grenadier handled to steep reverse up 500 yards in low with center diff locked with no problems. I was very impressed with the ease of backing up the steep hill.

I noticed a couple things. In off-road mode the reverse camera does not come on. This is very inconvenient and I could not see an option to activate it without turning off-road mode off. Does anyone know if this is possible? The second thing was that after getting out to inspect the trail I got back in the car and tried to put my seatbelt on but it was locked and I could not pull it out. Same with one passenger in the rear. The two people who were already wearing their seatbelts could adjust them. After we got to the top of the hill and leveled out the lock was released. It seems like the seatbelts get lock on steep inclines. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I experienced exactly the same thing on my very first test drive and was really very impressed.

I don’t think this is a Grenadier thing. It’s happened in most 4wd and non 4wd vehicles Ive driven in that situation.

Inertia reel Seatbelts can do that in any car. The no reverse camera in offroad mode is nuts, I don’t know what they were thinking.

Been a busy couple of weeks since taking delivery of my Scottish White diesel Grenadier. Have installed a few accessories so far - GME UHF radio (under the glovebox with remote connection via a “telephone” style connector in the centre console tray), STEDI dual row light bar (wired into the overhead Auxiliary High beam light circuit), REDARC TowPro elite electric brake controller, 12v power outlets into the passenger side rear cargo area (1x Anderson outlet, 2x MagCode outlets for fridge power and 1x USB B and C power outlet), I removed the Nato plug on the towbar and replaced this with an Anderson plug for trailer power and an Anderson plug for Solar input (mounted under the trailer Anderson plug onto a hand-made, custom mounting bracket) and I replaced the 13 pin Euro trailer socket for a 7 pin flat trailer socket (also mounted onto a hand-made custom bracket). All tested and working as expected (Thankfully)!! 4 roof-top lights (to be wired into overhead roof switches) yet to be installed.
