I am a rich man and in fact, I bought 3 Grenadiers. Today I decided to give one to my Grandson, well, Santa Claus decided that (Saint-Nicolas, Sint-Niklaas).

Believe me or not, but my grandson decided to follow his grand father, and dismounted his car: 3 wheels, the rear door, the two side mirrors and the bigger backdoor window, no pictures, not allowed (well, honestly, I didn't think about taking pictures, I only thought how to repair it)! (Nobody is allowed to share this information: but he dropped the heavy car! No child can hold a car of almost 3 tons).

I could repair it quite well, with some pliers, and super glue, but ... I was quite surprised by the wheels: they were not glued, and the brake pads were visible and undamaged, I could put the three wheels back., without gluing them.

Once home I took my spare Grenadier, and took of a wheel

Picture a bit blurry, but indeed, my third Grenadier (now my second

) has also visible brake pads ! The wheels are not "welded"

I attended a winch training course conducted by Getabout Training Services at Gemalong near Lithgow (NSW, Australia) on Tuesday. It was a great day, made even better by the fact that I shared it with a nicely set up Suzuki Jimny and a NPWS Fire Striker (Landcruiser).

Day two of ownership and off to work! Corporate Christmas lunch at the home of Scottish Cricket. Bowled over by how good the Grenadier is, and the awning was very useful keeping off some of the rain - decidedly not BBQ weather!!!

I *nearly* did some wading in the New Forest today.

Coming home this evening after some prolonged and heavy rain, my satnav was directing me on an unusual detour. There are a couple of railway bridges near my house where I realised the road under the bridge had probably flooded. Ahha! I thought. An opportunity. Two actually, a couple of miles apart. I approached each of them in turn with a mixture of nervous excitement.

Arriving at the first, I had a A Defender ahead of me, so I knew I was also going to get to watch someone else try it before me. The spiritual ancestor of the Grenadier too. The handy depth marks on both side of the bridge showed that at the deepest part of the dip the water was almost exactly 80cm. Amazing luck!

Unfortunately, my hopes were dashed. There was a crappy little Honda with its lights off, hazards on, no driver anywhere to be seen (presumably walking home with wet feet) blocking the middle of the road. The defender and I both decided there wasn’t quite room to get past. If the Honda had had the foresight to have left their handbrake off I’d have gladly nudged them out of the way!

One three point turn later and the second flooded bridge also boasted a second little flooded car. Rubbish.

Luckily, the final remaining option (the one my satnav had been smugly pointing me to all along) was very passable. Only a small puddle.

Next time there’s some good rain I’ll hopefully actually get to engage wading mode.

Beware short drawbar and fold up jockey wheel!

In 6 years behind the JGC never had an issue. First outing with the Grenadier - this:

Turns out the towball is 150mm closer to the vehicle than on the JGC - one tight turn did it. Now to try and source a tow bar with a longer tongue which will be a challenge as the tongues in Australia are larger than the IG 51mm version.

Bummer. I'm using a Mister Hitches tongue. I see they do some longer options.

I reckon that's still too short for my needs. The height on my standard tow tongue is about right but the length of the tongue isn't. Putting a straight edge across the rearmost bumperettes and 150mm to the tow ball centre is the length I'm looking for.

I would do a controlled test with yours by reversing and turning to the side where your jockey wheel is mounted - you might get a nasty surprise. This, of course depends on how long your drawbar is - mine is relatively short.

I'm good. My jockey wheel mounts back near the stone guard and swings rearwards plus it's on a fairly long draw bar.
Not saying that this is the specific tongue you need, just sharing that Mister Hitches fit the receiver and they do long options.

Ouch, now that is one I hadn't considered. It will be very tight on a right turn with the spare wheel and raised jockey wheel

I have just retrived my Grenadier from Chandlers after having 3 of the outer door seals replaced, the sills drained of water and the heater given a hard stare to make it send warm air to my feet. All quests seem to have been successful, so I am looking forwards to putting some more miles on it. (Heading to the East Coast to pick up a boat for a mate on Sunday).

I took a picture to celebrate a small milestone, 13,000 miles + 2.

I have updated the https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/heater-issues-not-directly-air-con.12413427/ thread with the dealer process to sort my heater. It might work for you, else it will be back to the dealer.

Love seeing real world use photos like this. I mean, one wheel up in the air, splashing through mud, etc. are all great, but everyday things are important, too!

Exactly! I completely agree with you.
I think it's ridiculous when people deliberately put their vehicles in a muddy puddle in order to take a photo for sale.
