I'm interested in purchasing 4 LED light pods to mount to the full-length Rhino Rack (see the below picture that I mocked-up below, showing round 6" 360-series Rigid Industry LEDs - although, not sure if this is the brand I'll settle on). I love the look of the round off-road lights mounted on the camel trophy defenders, and I'd love to eventually do the same on my Grenadier.

Knowing nothing about wiring - how would you go about wiring these up? Is it possible to have all 4 lights wired into the same Deutsch plug on the front right (so that all 4 lights would come on with a flick of the Ext 2? overhead switch)? Or, is there some other better method?

Also, for off-road driving at night, is it typical/best to do 2 spots (the center 2 lights) and then 2 floods (the outer 2 lights)? Or, would it make sense just to keep all 4 lights the same (all 4 as spots)?

The Rigid 360 6" lights only draw 4.85A each, so 4 of them would yield you <20A, which should be acceptable for the one switch (switch is capable of 25A, lights are 19.4A and even given 25% overhead for the fusing, still below 25A).

What lighting brand people like is an even wilder can of worms to open than what brand of vehicle they like. There's tons of research, read/watch it all.

As far as the beam patterns; I've always been a fan of the 2 spots/2 driving for my brightest lighting (if your brand of choice offers those beam patterns). If not, 2 spot/2 flood is a good bet. Then again, it all depends on what the usage will be. If it's all slow speed night trails, spots are more or less useless because there isn't any real speed involved; and if it's all highway, extreme side lighting isn't necessary. For what it's worth, ARB recommends 1 spot/1 flood for their Intensity Solis lights

Awesome - thanks for this info! Assuming someone probably makes a 4-way splitter wire harness for something like this? Or, make up your own splitter harness with deutsch plugs?

So, if I went with 2 spots/2 driving - would it make sense to do the 2 inner lights as spots (for the longer, narrow beams), and the 2 outer lights as driving (for shorter, wider beams)?

I love this look as well! However, I’m leaning toward a Stedi light bar that can fit below the factory rack. This is more for clearance (carrying a canoe), but that Stedi throws an insane amount of light!

Lools like Lazer have now added a grille kit for small rectangular bars, but I also would like a replacement for the OE round ones that keep the original look but give additional distance

Go big or go home! I'm a huge fan of Clearwater Lights. I have them on my BMW Motorcycles. How bright are they? I feel like they could melt a Prius. I have the Erica / Krista combo, which are 3000 (spot) and 6000 (driving beam) lumens, respectively and 2 Darlas (2400 Lumens each).

If I were putting their lights on my Grenadier (I might, yet), I'd get 2+ Dixis. 10,000+ lumens each.

I’m a fan of Clearwater too - I truly love the hand built quality of them, but I simply couldn’t ever justify the cost for them on any of my BMW GS’s. My gut is in the same place for my Grenadier. But, I look forward to seeing them on your Grenadier!

Toyota actually made a modern interpretation of the truck back in 2015 (with a 2016 Tacoma). I saw it at the Autoshow in NYC and I won't lie, seriously considered putting one together. In fact, seeing it again ... :sneaky:

imo, it doesn#t even come close to the look of the original McFly version. The McFly one looks crisp, the new one is too bulky - to my taste.

I don't disagree - I think the same can be said of many vehicles of equal nameplates some 30+ years apart.
