What did you do with your Grenadier today?

New shoes for the Grenadier! I am very pleased with it. Fitting perfekt, nor rubbing (so far) and

even the door in the back opens …with LESS than 1mm space 😂😂😂. (285/75-17 Geolander MT003)

That looks great. I like those wheels immediately when I saw them. Can you tell me if your greanadier is lifted and what size tires you are using?
Thank you in advance.
Jeff
Hi Jeff - Thanks! I saw these wheels on another member's Gren and immediately knew these were exactly what I was looking for. I have no lift and I'm running 285/70/17 KO2s. Just a bit wider than stock, but these rims make them look slightly bigger imo.
Agile was great to work with and they shipped them quickly.

I took a trip back in time with my Grenadier today. That was real mechanical engineering. Reminiscent of James Watt from UK.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon what started only to paint the wheel hub with Lanoguard to get rid and protect surface rust. Then got carried away and painted the side runners, metal brackets underneath the car, prop shafts, shocks, basically anything what is black. Happy with the results. My advice is to use a paint brush rather than spray. Neater job, no masking up, less mess and only used less than 1/2 litre. Alright for an amateur DIY job.

So the factory inverter wouldn’t handle the 1475 Watt KMini coffee maker. So I did the right thing and bought a 300w 3 minute kettle. (5+ Minutes with cold water) dumped it in the KMini let it sense it was hot already and brewed away!

We drove home from 4 days in Big Bend today. The grenadier did great. No issues on Black Gap Trail on Friday. I can't count how many people stopped me to ask about the Grenadier. I was literally flagged down on the roads around the park more than once and virtually every time we parked either in the park or around Terlingua, I had one or more people coming up to ask about it.

Coming up "the Gap" (I did have to engage the rear lockers):

Looking good Texas Crane! Do you think that mounting bracket would work for the larger, 4 gallon Rotopax? Have a great time in Big Bend, we will be out near Marfa the following weekend.
I don't have one to test, but I think it would work. However, I'd be worried about blocking access to the rear door handle with the larger rootpax.

Look absolutely GREAT!! Now the inevitable question for Germany: Are they road legal? If so, where did you get them qualified?

I actually meant the tube-shaped one below the door... that was the bugger! The upper one paled in comparison.
Yeah I didn’t even bother trying to get it through there. Ran it along the strut using some plastic covering, then drilled a small hole below my fridge in the door panel, placed a rubber grommet and called it a day.

Well done jamming it through the rubber tube and fishing it.
