What did you do with your Grenadier today?

I jumped on FB marketplace last night and grabbed this kayak which had just been posted up.
Guy had it a year but family only used it twice. Cost him $1400 incl 3 seatbacks, 3 paddles, 3 jackets.
Cost us $500! Ooh I do love a bargain.
Should be great for our watery adventures.
I've ordered the Frontrunner roller as it's a fairly heavy boat , and as I intend to mount it the other way up , the various attachments catch on the rack lip.
We have an inflatable twin kayak , but it's a bit of a faff to set up , awkward to get in and out of - and there are no fishing rod holders.
Kids can have that one!

I think the rod holders are the Black flush mounted tubes...two up front and two in the stern? (y)

My wife and I do a walk from our car parked on a headland to the river mouth at the base of the headland in the distance, Mooloolaba Sunshine Coast Queensland. Great walk along the beach, a little more than 6klms round trip with a dip in the ocean bending conditions. We have been this morning and now ready to go back for the

I swapped my spare tyre to the front as I had scraped the sidewall on a rock or two. (just cosmetic damage).

Getting the wheel back on the spare wheel mount is quite an effort!
I realised in my case that if I ever had to change it, it was going to be a 2 man job. At my age ( and fitness) I struggled getting a Disco 4 wheel from underneath and fitting to the wheel and putting the spare back underneath. I single handedly couldn't fit the Grenadier wheel back up. I have alloys, is that much lighter than the steels, I'll have to look in the manual and check.

I have the 17” steel wheels with BFG tyres and that’s 40kg. I’ve figured out a lifting method. I have the rhino rack and I hang a part of my hilift jack out over the back of the vehicle and ratchet strap in place, I have a mini block and tackle I attach to the protruding jack bar and hoist the wheel in place.
You could rig up something similar with a ratchet hoist.

Added White Knuckle Off-road rock sliders. I love the 20 degree angle up versus straight out. Build quality is top notch. They are heavy!! Two man job; or use a floor jack. I recommend to thread bolts slightly in the front mounting holes and then take out before install. Both sides were difficult to get bolts to bite. Great small company and great customer service.
