VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)

Only to help: my VIN has for the body: AX. (SC6GM1AAXPF001312)
I have side windows, safari windows, car has steering at the right place, meaning at the left! No splendid footrest for me, but yes for my short-legged wife. I promised her to build another footrest at the right side too ;)
Car is petrol, passenger, sela green, ...

So X must be left hand drive and B right.

So after the B it is numbers 0-9 I thought these may relate to colour but I was wrong.
I have an X rather than 0-9? Or maybe agent wrote it down wrong?

Are there 9 variants of body type?

Side panel, no safari windows, no utility belt

WMI = World Manufacturer Identifier
VDS = Vehicle Descriptor Section
VIS = Vehicle Indicator Section

1st guess:

SC6 = Ineos Automotive Ltd
G = Grenadier
M1 = Passenger
A = petrol
A = left hand drive
X = body type
P = 2023 model year
F = Hambach plant
xxxxxx = sequential number

Edit: To match the other LHD VIN then 7th and 8th character assignments have to be swapped:

SC6 = Ineos Automotive Ltd
G = Grenadier
M1 = Passenger
A = left hand drive
A = petrol
X = body type
P = 2023 model year
F = Hambach plant
xxxxxx = sequential number

The utility belt is put on in the line and is applied/ screwed in. I believe the body shell is ambivalent so it can’t be one of your options.

No, since IA were putting belts on when they ran out of bump strips, at no extra cost, and if you didn't want it they'd put the bump strip on when new stock arrived. So nothing to do with the VIN

How about a "lowest VIN spotted" competition?

Just arrived back from a visit at LeTech, where they have 2 customer vehicles on display. One has VIN xxxx706, which seems very low. The LeTech guy told me he assumes that the prototypes also had VINs, so this one must be _very_ close to the first batch...

As far as I know, prototypes had always some P or PT and [EDITED] OTHER LETTERS in the number part of the VIN:

Hi mate. Got my VIN today and it is 000697, lowest number I have heard of, but according to INEOS I was at the top of the first 50 reservations, world wide. Why it has only just been built is a conundrum only INEOS knows the answer too!

Somewhere must signify LHD vs RHD?

So A = LHD and B = RHD?
I'm so confused .........

What colour is yours? I heard the light blue and green were initially pushed back. But who knows

My last are 680 and like you, I was amongst the first reservations. Was built in mid December I think.

Yes, I was grasping with that one.

Side panels and safari windows would be my guess as the key body differentiators you might want in a VIN. Maybe some of them aren't allocated yet or run on for the double cab, etc?
