My preorder is 10212 - Dealer is Triadin NC. Headed down for a test drive and "questions" today!
Cheers!
Ask about their pricing for installation of accessories (side steps, checker plates, etc) please! And maybe what they think the timeframe is for delivery from port to the dealers. And enjoy the test drive, they were great when I was there a few weeks ago.

Mine is on the Morning Chant, due to arrive at Port Hueneme on 11/6. Thanks everyone for all your investigative prowess! Called my dealer rep to see what he knew; he didn't confirm. But did share they just received an email from Ineos saying:
- on the portal, where shows ETA, is when the vehicle should be on US soil (the port)
- then will perform updates, fixes
- add 60 days from arriving at US port to arriving at US dealership
60 days? That's certainly not the Q4 '23 they've been telling me... :p

(and this comes straight from Ineos NA via my Dealer)
One thing we have discovered is that any information from a dealer may or may not be straight from Ineos Automotive.
Inherently we all interpret what we hear and see differently and sometimes we forget or add parts when recounting the information.
Not saying you are wrong, merely that the information you have been given may be outdated or misinterpreted.
Or then again it could be 98.99745% correct.
You are right: Further discussion shows that my dealer was referring to Souteast Coast initial deliveries (e.g. in this case, his/my Florida trucks)

Following better research from this thread, I have pulled an Excel of all vehicles coming to the East Coast (Brunswick, GA) on the Morning Lynn (arriving Zeebrugge for loading 1 Nov) and Morning Claire (left Zebrugge October 21, ETA Nov 6). Happy that my vehicle will be loaded on the Morning Lynn, with an ETA in Charlotte Nov 16)

So much to elaborate on feel like I'll be posting this perhaps on several threads ...
Andiamo - was informed that there will be a $1600 "destination" charge - shipping etc. Customer essentially responsible for cost of vehicle leaving the Factory and arriving at the dealership. Could be worse ... it was $2600 for the Bentley on the showroom floor yet that Bentley was priced at $322k (😂) so a "better deal"???
Then the $999 "documentation" fee (aka Dealer profit right from the start).
Additional state whatever charges (tags, taxes etc)
No firm word on installation of accessories. That said, when I place my order and was provided a "final price" by Ineos, there was no indication that my vehicle would not come with those accessories already installed NOR that there would be an additional charge for them to be installed. I'm holding firm that any additional charges will not be appropriate.
Time frame from Port to Dealer - estimate a month.
I checked the "Wallenius-Wilhemsen" site looking at the ships headed to Brunswick and Baltimore ... down to the 4th ship arriving East Coast and 75% thru the manifest and loosing faith my vehicle was "out of the factory" (yet had received my reservation deposit credit back to my credit card on 26 Oct) and I finally found my VIN!!!! Arriving 16 Nov Brunswick. THANK YOU!!!
Triad was very pleasant overall but I was a bit miffed that my total drive time was allotted 10 may 15 min ( 1 left turn, down a log road / several stoplights then another left turn (try out the "U" turn abilityo) then head back to the dealer). It is a 3.25 hr non-stop above speed limit drive from Charlottesville. Made this appt nearly 3 wks ago. Put in my $450 reservation 1 day after initial hand raisers reservation window closed mid Oct 2021. They had made 10 reservations for Saturday and open 9am -5pm. They had sent 1 of the 2 vehicles down to 24 Hrs of Uwharrie. I realize that was an excellent "advertisement" opportunity but I feel rather shafted given I have waited patiently for 2+ yrs now. to get to this point I wonder if the same events would have happened if I was ordering the Bentley???
Overall experience was weird in that I knew I was more knowledgeable (thanks to my own research and much thanks to everyone on this Forum) than any one at the Dealership. From the start this process as been "self service/order". Why can't I just drive to the Port of Brunswick and pick this vehicle up from there?? Why isn't there a Carvana like dispensing tower available to us??

One thing I did learn that so far haven't seen on the Forum is this concept of a "mobile" service unit - anticipating that our first service need will be an oil change (can I do that myself??) that rather than going to the dealer an appt will be made with this "mobile" service unit. Anyone else hear anything about this??
Cheers and many thanks to All who contribute info to this Forum!

-- Every vehicle in (at least?) the last 50 years has a destination fee, this fee was announced from the start of pricing (some outlets, I believe Car & Driver, said the MSRP included destination, which is inaccurate, but in their article(s) listed the MSRP+destination as the MSRP)
-- The doc fee (mark up) has already been listed in the Quick Reference Post. It is annoying enough that I contemplated (and I guess still am contemplating) walking away and reordering (at the back of the line) from another dealer on principle alone
-- The dealer installation of accessories was (is) listed in the configurator, anything with an * adjacent to it is installed after it leaves the factory and in the fine print it states that dealers may charge for installing these parts.
-- Sorry that your drive was so short, I know other dealers talked about 45-90 minute test drives if you wanted/needed that much seat time, as seems to be the case with Triad, another let down...
-- There are some dealers that are more up to speed (mostly those that are active either here on this forum or on the FB groups), but Triad definitely does not seem like one of them (same feeling in my talks with their SM), which is ironic since they are the closest to Ineos Automotive's US HQ
-- Mobile services has been talked about since the beginning of the year, but has not yet been finalized. Initially, it was primarily in areas without a dealer, but still a (relatively) high number of reservations. Talk of this has gotten quiet since early Summer, and I would imagine it is something that may be reinvestigated sometime in 2024. Bottom line, oil changes and basic service can be performed anywhere and not effect the warranty (as is the case with any vehicle)

I think the destination fee being separate from MSRP was one of the bigger shocks to the system for me. With the state of the world since my initial reservation I knew the overall cost would be up, but I either missed or more likely assumed that the pricing on the Ineos configurator included MSRP. When you work out other builds, at least from US manufactures or pull a window sticker the price usually includes the destination fee in the MSRP. Since I'm a bit of a geek about window stickers, both my most recent car purchases include the destination in either the MSRP (Ford) or suggested retail price (Subaru). Of note my F150 destination fee back in 2018 was $1495 , for a train ride across the US.

Makes $1600 for a boat ride from Europe seem reasonable

Agreed, still wish it was baked into the Ineos MSRP tho. Looking like an April delivery for me, so a few more months to save up for that piece.

Hi Anand,
Oh sure I understand the "destination fee. Yes aware the "doc" fee has been much discussed - I don't disagree with you. I am puzzled as to why Ineos is allowing this of their dealerships as it really is putting a sour taste in our mouths given we have waited 2 yrs!
Ah - thank you for that info and educating me regarding the "*" - I admit to missing that detail. I was able to check out the interior of a Grenadier at the West London dealership this summer. Spent probably an hour at the dealer and they were very helpful. Just wasn't able to take the Right hand model out on a test drive . It will take definitely some time to learn all the swtiches etc. That said closing the door verifies the solidness of the vehicle, start up is smooth and cruise down the road is quiet! Dare say a few decibels quieter than my Tiguan. Steering will take a bit of adjustment to but then every time I switch between the Tiguan and my 1996 5 sp manual Discovery takes a few seconds of mental memory to get squared away. My overall impression is what I expected and want - the Grenadier is a modernized mid 1990's Discovery.
I know! I am actually relieved the dealership is located in the Triad and not the Triangle though - traffic in Raleigh/Cary is worse than even given my experience last weekend. I grew up in the Triangle. I've always thought of it as a bit NASCAR like - one does well to keep up with the traffic at times:ROFLMAO:
Its not for Sunday drivers!! Drive distance between the 2 locations out of Charlottesville is equal ironically.
I figure there will be a dealer somewhere in Northern VA by end of 2024. As you say oil changes and such can be performed anywhere - PLUS I have this Forum to learn from and ask questions to !! At worse there is a Land Rover repair shop (Sarek Autowerke) in Richmond - know anything about them??

Where are you in Maryland?
Appreciate the info you provided!
Cheers, Donna

Ralf (I hope I remembered his name correctly), the owner of Sarek was (is?) a reservation holder; he was at one of the PTO2 tour stops (I honestly can't remember if it was MD or NC); I think they have a pretty good name in the LR community, but no personal experience.

I'm right around BWI airport, but buying through Triad since we are down in NC at least one weekend a month between teaching with OEX(in Troy), having our vehicles worked on by Apex Overland (in Reidsville) or grabbing new parts from LFD Off Road (in Denver, just North of CLT). We (almost always) take "the long way" down 29 to bypass 95/85 (and NoVA/RVA/Raleigh)

Awesome information to know Ralf is a reservation owner. I was not able to make any of the PTO2 tours - never coincided with an available date on my side. All good places to learn about! Oh the "long way" is the only way! Got to love the bypass around Greensboro's version of "Death Valley" - been going thru there for 30+ yrs. I so love 840!!! After watching the construction for years and years so thrilled it is now completed.
Once we both get our vehicles will be on the look out for you!
Cheers Donna
