Sooooo.….to add to the Tow Pack woes, it appears that there is a stop sell order on vehicles equipped with Factory Red Winch/Auxillary Switch panel - one or both…I’m unclear - because of a possible wiring issue.
Mine is a TM and has evidently been sitting at Port since it’s arrival on 10/7. Had to postpone my trip out west to pick it up and do the Hard Way Home this week.
Has anyone taken delivery of one with the Factory Winch to-date?
And speaking of Tow Packs…I’ve seen conflicting info/posts on whether any configured with it have taken delivery. I received the same ‘we are sorry’ here is your $800 credit for the inconvenience e-mail - but no updates since…
So - has anyone in the group received theirs with the tow pack removed and factory rear cover fitted?
Going to be a wonderful vehicle when I do get it, but seems like a hazing process to get one that has two critical options at roughly $4900 in cost.
And don’t get me started on ISA/ADAS…

There is a posting on Facebook page that a Stop Sell hold is in place today on IG with the Factory Red Winch/Auxillary Switch panel. Has anyone received notice of this?
I don't think a "stop sale" is the appropriate terminology. I believe it is more accurate to say it is an inspect and release.

There have definitely been winch-equipped vehicles that have been delivered

Kevin Hall is just the author. The posting is copied below his name.

However I wonder if it is more a inspect and release than a stop/sell. I have seen two IGs with winches posted as being delivered. It would be helpful if more accurate information was forthcoming on these things.

In my opinion, it's a bunk story with no confirmation, just hearsay that "his dealer" told him.

He's not wrong, per se. Just that I don't believe it qualifies as a "stop sale", because it is just an inspection that can easily be carried out

Without saying more, it's about who you know not what you know
Reads like “Spin” to me.

I get tired of that stuff.
If it’s an inspection, then IA should say so, and just keep it in house.
If they are recalling hitch installed vehicles for a worthy issue, then just say so.

There's no spin on this. And none of this is coming from IA, technically at this point it should be plainly and clearly relayed from dealers, which for the most part, does not seem to be happening. I'm not comfortable with naming any sources, thus my response.

The hitch (or really, electronics behind the wiring output) is one thing. This new "winch/switch panel" thing is separate and unrelated to the tow hitch/lighting concern.

There are no actual recalls, any issues are being handled before the customers get the vehicles.

I was wondering if anyone has secured vehicle insurance for the Grenadier? Since the vehicle is brand new to the US, my State Farm agent said he has to request special approval. I was wondering if anyone ran into any issues? My agent said he doesn't foresee any issues but wanted to prepare just in case.
State Farm quote me almost triple what Costco/Connect Auto Insurance did.

I’m just glad they’re catching all this stuff before I/we do.

Are folks thinking they are going to take delivery and deal with the hitch when it comes in - or delay delivery until the hitch is ready?
Even though it's a 24 hour round trip, I'll gladly get the Grenadier first and go back for the fix, if I get it delivered before the end of January. I have a ticket to SLC for Dec. 19, so I'm really hoping it's ready then. If not, I'll have to cancel and rebook.
