Trump tariff. Ineos Automotive is dead right?

Mostly dead in the US at least. But I think that will apply to pretty much all automakers, even 'domestic' manufacturers import a ton of materials/components.

I don't see anyway that the greater US economy doesn't plummet within the next 6-12 months. As far I can tell, that's a feature, not a bug from the administration and tech bro allies perspective.

Is this the section for the Jeep & Toyota owners? Bit more pessimistic information to run down the opposition?
? Ok put your head in the sand.. don’t hedge your risks owning a vehicle that becomes even more difficult to source parts for..

Ignore the news, then everything will be ok

I do find it all a worry but shouting about it won't do anything other than make it a self fulfilling prophecy. Ineos took a hit in Auss with the tariffs.so who knows what will happen. Create fear and it will happen. I'm an owner and realise that to some extent what we say matters and need to be more positive, not naive, but positive.

Nothing you said in your original post was positive though. You offered no argument nor data to refute what seems like a fairly obvious conclusion that adding 10-25% to the price of an already expensive vehicle will negatively effect sales in the second largest automovie market in the world. Maybe even to the point of Ineos pulling out of the US, which would not be great for the company.

You original post basically just talked shit and implied that the OP was a toyota plant or something, which is a weird thing to bother to post.

Not a very tactical mindset. Makes you comfortable, then fine

The u.s. is by far Ineo’s largest market. No u.s. and they have no business model.

and no, no aftermarket will produce windshields for Ineos… not enough volume..

Anyway. As with most tariffs, there often seems to be a way round them. Might be as straightforward as putting in the seats when the vehicle gets to the US. It can then be classed as 'Built in the US'. A bit like Harley Davidson.

I see.. so they will be impacted. But how does that help with ineos’s sustainability ?
Trump has come in to with a goal of shock and awe. I guess the American people will have to accept that foreign items, for many will no longer be attainable. Let's hope it all works out.

I think as a society, we are failing our next generation. Blanket statements have become the narrative and we are lacking the willingness to wait for all details.

I wrote this as we have no clue what the tariffs will be. People may not realize that currently there are tariffs on majority of our goods. People don't realize, that items can be excluded from the tariffs. We all talk about the chicken tax but forget that chicken tax targeted a style of vehicle. The important piece which we don't know is what and how is the tariff written. Here is a great piece discussing the estimated impact of tariffs. It is a 15 to 20 min read, much more context than it's the end of the world.

Below is link to weighted mean of current tariffs.

i don’t believe Ineos is competing for g wagon customers. Paying 150-200k is very different than paying 80k
I disagree, just because I am that customer.... I however also looked at Jeep and Ford my driveway has had G's and LR's for a while now. The Ineos too me was the perfect replacement of both. Also they were pavement queens :)
