It amazes me the level of legislation and inspection ROW owners face compared to the USA. This is not an insult, quite the contrary - you likely have safer roadways while we supply all those Youtube videos
Hmmm I've IWTs but I'll willing to bet the jockey wheels are in the same place. Since I suspect they are both Knott, I'm going to have to take care. The one I'm waiting to try is the tow ball mounted bike rackFor those asking questions about jockey wheels and doors.
Brian James cargo connect trailer.
Jockey wheel clamped fully up:

And jockey wheel just lowered to the ground:

Hadn't thought about this! Do you think a jockey wheel sitting at 700mm back from the towball would clear? For those asking questions about jockey wheels and doors.
Good thing about jockey wheels is that on most trailers they are easier and cheaper to replace and relocate than doors.Hadn't thought about this! Do you think a jockey wheel sitting at 700mm back from the towball would clear?
It’s nothing special. For superb you want an air ride suspension.Seems silly we have a superb towing platform but can't attach anything to it.
Yes, might have to add a spacer to move it back a few inches, the WDH brackets & bars prevent it going on the outside of the A-frame.Good thing about jockey wheels is that on most trailers they are easier and cheaper to replace and relocate than doors.
I'll check later...Hadn't thought about this! Do you think a jockey wheel sitting at 700mm back from the towball would clear?
Well mine measures 575mm from centre of towball to centre of jockey wheel, so I d think 700mm is going to be well clear of the large door.Hadn't thought about this! Do you think a jockey wheel sitting at 700mm back from the towball would clear?
Bloody marvelous. Thanks for checking that.Well mine measures 575mm from centre of towball to centre of jockey wheel, so I d think 700mm is going to be well clear of the large door.
Yes it does, 6 pre-drilled holes and two different bolt sizes I think.@JohnHeagney ~ did you get any response to this question?

And can you confirm whether the backplate comes with all 6 holes pre-made to align with the Vertical Towing Interface bolt pattern?

I tried this first but needed a further drop!Another variant to lower the towball height:

Hi John,
Just getting back to you regarding the drop plate query you have raised earlier.
It should not pose a problem. This sort of adaption should not pose any additional strain on the tow bar system. However, we can't be accountable for anything if the adaptions were to fail.
To ensure the adaption works in the long run, perhaps making additional checks every now and then should help to prevent any issues.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further assistance.
Thanks,

Most people find that as age progresses the ball height naturally lowers.Another variant to lower the towball height:
