What do you think of both the compressor (tjm pro single stage) and the mounting location?

I think I like the idea of getting the compressor out of the cabin. I'm not super sold on that style switch but that I can change. I worry that the switch isn't made for the rough environment that exists in an engine bay. But I think I can find a better switch if I need to.

Thoughts on this anyone?

It is well known, compressors run very hot ARB or TJM. Therefore they wont necessarily last under the bonnet (depending upon ones use case).
In the Grenadier Diesel or petrol engine bay, theres no room. Becuase of the heat especially in Australia, best to keep the engine bay as open as possible. I am having the hydraulic jack plate re-made so I can bolt in the TJM compressor (just fits upright). The covers all removed, plenty of air cuirculation as the TJM Vehicle Mount Compressor has a 100% Duty Cycle, with the outlet and switch mounted in the front panel of the new draw system. The Factory Jack mount is not practical anyway once the rear cargo area is full.

I have heard that but I think so many people run ARB in engine bays that is a non issue. Especially since the hood would be open and the pump has a fan on it. I am not driving around and using compressor at the same time. Also i am doing this for one vehicle. All told i expect 8-10 minutes total to air my tires.

If the pump has a shorter life by a few years it is cheap to replace. The convenience is more important to me. The pump location is very roomy. There is a big void there. I think this will last many many years. Also not as hot where i am compared to Australia.

I am thinking a NATO plug conversion to one of the portable generators and just plugging in the rear to run for all 4 tires is what I am going to do. I dont like having them in vehicle or under hood. Ran a CO2 tank for years on my Land Cruisers, FJC and 100 series without issue...and one tank lasted me for a week trip in Uwharrie with daily lowering/raising of tire pressures. If nothing else will mount my tank rack and do that on this vehicle too for time being.

Happy with mine so far. Aside from an electrical gremlin that sorted itself out (it seems), it has worked as expected.

It should be noted that the engine bay location used by the CA Tuned bracket is occupied by other equipment on the diesel trucks, so petrol folks only.

Finally had a chance to use mine last week. Pump 4 tires from 20PSI to 38PSI, no issues at all. The compressor was very hot.

I’m very happy with mine using the CA Tuned bracket. I re-did the wiring to simplify it, way too many wires (used a local ground on the body). I installed it about 6 months ago!

I agree - sorting out the generic harness was painful but necessary.
