There seem to many comments about tire size fitting that indicate a low level of experience or understanding of what all affects properly fitting a bigger tire. This is an IFS but it all still applies. It showed up in my feed and I think it's a good set of cliff notes for the newly offroad initiated.

That guy did a really good follow up video to Robert Pepper's off-road performance comparison of wide vs narrow tires that's worth a watch as well. There seems to be a lot of misinformation on that topic based on intuition and, as he mentioned in the video, it's one way to fit larger diameter tires.

This is a great video and one of the reasons I went with 255/85r17 tires.

Interesting with the same brand, but interesting that the wide KM03 has similar performance to the skinny tire. Would be interesting to see the KM03 tread and compound tech in a skinny tire… THough I think for my OA, I’d like to see a K03, in place of the KM3.

Would the 255/85s work on an unlifted IG?

I can confirm that the Mickey Thompson 255/85r17 fits without rubbing on factory wheels and factory suspension even under full articulation and at full steering lock.
