Suspension on road

Hello everyone.
After years of learning from all of you.
I have decided to take the plunge and buy a used grenadier.
I have several fieldmaster or trial master candidates with or without winch.
The question I have is the difference in suspension if there is any difference for driving on the road.
My first thought is trialmaster with winch but I don't want to be penalized for road use considering that they all have the same wheel.

Have driven them all and have a Trialmaster with a winch they all drive fine as the springs are different rates etc don’t forget it’s not a Lotus.

If you are going to use a winch and don't need a long line, then go for the factory option. I don't have one as I would never use it so would probably not work if I were ever in a situation where I would but it would have been nice to have the factory fit options on the vehicle rather than not.

Congratulations on choosing the Grenadier.
I have the Trialmaster Diesel with a factory winch. As CountyV8 wrote above, the cars with a winch have different springs. It is noticeable in the overall weight. I don't think you notice it in the handling on the road. It's more the different types of tires.

Thanks to everyone for the answers.
I have doubts because I think I'm going to make a very big change.
I'm going to change a Mercedes GL diesel V8 that already has 400,000 km and I use it daily. My job means I have to do a lot of kilometres on the motorway and then do between 50 and 80 km on off-road roads. The car is loaded with clinical material (I'm a vet).
With the GL it's gone well, although I've broken shock absorbers and suspension supports. With the Grenadier I'm sure it won't happen but I'd like the best configuration for the road.

Get your dealer to give you an extended test drive and do the things in it you want to do in everyday life.

Trialmaster and Fieldmaster have the same suspension; the only difference in springs are based on engine and whether with or without winch; and at the end of the day they should handle the same as the stiffer spring (diesel or winch) is only to account for the extra weight

If you can get one with heated seats they are fantastic but you may live in hot country and not need them. You may need to play about with the tire pressures to get it how you want it and insist that it has the alignment checked before you get it some early ones were strapped down too tight and were miss aligned also make sure the front wheels are aligned with the mark on the steering wheel before driving away from the dealer .Good luck

Yes, it is a good option since I live in Sierra Nevada and it is cold at night and at dawn.
In fact, the prototypes were here very close to my house.
