No doubt. I just wish a hand full of members here would accept that most of us are here because of that and we will often die on this hill along side them regardless of if we have the same views about software or steering or what the hell ever.
I'll charge up that hill with you 🪖

I'm still completely mystified. I get in the car, drive it , it works fine, totally happy, not another thought.
Maybe France is not happy with NA and have knobbled your cars?

My apologies.

My factory steering tracks straight on the highway even with hands off the wheel at 100 kmh or 60 mph and I posted a Youtube video showing it.
It returns to centre when cornering or turning nearly 100% with very little to no assistance needed.
It took about a week of driving to get used to the steering.

So I guess my comment was that the standard steering on my vehicle works as designed and I am extremely happy with it.

There are plenty of video's and reviews of how great a change to an aftermarket steering damper is, however I find many/most of them are from people who sell aftermarket steering dampers.
I wholly agree with you, I wouldn’t change it, in my view the steering set up is spot on and I fail to see what others find to be a problem!

It is easy to see if they are comparing to a modern IFS Rack & Pinion setup.
This is the problem with most of the car reviewers.

Come on now nobody said we don't love you...we all don't have to agree to be friends but we have one thing in common, brilliant motor vehicles and I am very sad some don't have or didn't make certain choices but in time we will wonder, why was I complaining about that...hopefully.

Me personally, I have a Trialmaster diesel and we my agent and I have a list we are working through, just little things like a transfer case replacement but I want bore you with the odds and ends. This vehicle that I purchased, with my eyes wide open, is a work in progress and I quietly with my agent nut out the issues...no stress :)

Exactly.
You build yours up the way you want, I do mine differently but so what,
If someone else wants a large sound system, flash interior, lowered suspension etc etc then that is their choice as well. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
The day I used the wires in the footwells linked to the roof switches to power USB outlets was a very happy day.
I have also used the wires to power my dashcam so I can turn it off when long term parked at the airport and not kill the battery.

The list of additions and mods planned over the next 2 years is a pleasure to review, revise and undertake.

Mine is a mid-23 model, and on delivery, the steering wheel was off-centered to the right about 10 degrees, and I had to maintain slight right-hand pressure to keep the vehicle tracking straight.

At about 6000k, I had a wheel alignment done, and with some minor tweaks to castor, and the steering wheel re-centred, the vehicle was night-and-day different steering-wise. I lowered the tyre pressures on my return journey from the Gold Coast back home, and that made it better.

Does it return to centre? No, but if I'm patient enough, it'll somewhat get into the ballpark (about 10 degrees or so off centre). How did I get used to the steering? By driving twistey windey roads. At the end of a 200k country road with lots of tight corners and such, you'll have forgotten what it felt like out of the dealer lot.

My car is now just a smidge over 10,000k, and I love it. The steering is _precise_, and doesn't need constant adjustment in a corner. It's light enough without being wishywashy light.

This post is why I am slowly giving up on social media…
Hah. I no longer do facebook, instagram, twitterX, or any other. Zero regrets. I could be wrong but I feel like social media was started for - shocking - socialization, then became validation, then became popularity vs judgment vs bullying, then got WOKE, then became a JOKE no matter your wokeness status, then Elon Musk annoyed everyone with Twitter Slash Xness, then people really wanted to leave but didn’t, and then people still wanted to leave and now they maybe just should. Or just get back to socializing except aholes stop being aholes who police all other aholes and non-aholes alike.

And celebrities who feel compelled to announce they’re leaving and then come back? Get.Over.Yer.Self. /end waffling rant

Back to the convo and my nontechnical comment amongst this way technical community. I’m annoyed at myself for saying this but the steering does “throw me off a little”. My other car is a LR3 and my 2 cars before that were LR Discos 1&2. When I switch btwn LR3 and Grenadier, it’s always an adjustment — I don’t yet have the muscle memory. But I think that will come and also think the steering will get better with more miles since others have indicated this.

I started a group on Facebook that is now 23,000 people. While I am nothing like Woke, I do have a first rule for the group that says “Be Nice”… It is there to prevent the typical garbage you referred to. I moderate with an axe too. One mean comment and a person is banned from the group! Life is too short to argue with people online… one strike and you are out. I sleep well at night too!
